8-28-5 If I can, fuel is just about 3 cnts a gallon. For the most part housing is free right now, a vacant or empty building is found and people just move in. Land is the same way in many areas. If you find a place you like, just start building on it, if the owner (if there is an owner) doesnt like it he will kick you off or sale it to you. You van buy a terrific meal at restaurants in town for around 3 dollars US. All in all it is very cheap. Yesterday, I baught 3 bottlrs of Crown Royal for 70 dollars. Any way, I hope you can use some of this. Cheers

Feb. 2005 Report from US soldier in Iraq: It takes 1460 dinar to make a Dollar and the average government salary for a guy is making about 200 dollars a month. I am not sure the cost of a loaf of bread since they bake their own bread but believe it is about 2600 dinars and fuel is about 1000 dinar a gallon. I am not sure on rent but it is about $200 – 300 a month for some places in Baghdad.
They rely on a monthly government ration of oil , flour, rice, sugar, tea and other staples to keep from going hungry. The government has established a “food Basket” ration card for all Iraqi residents that entitles them to rations from the Iraq’s Trade Ministry and also food from other humanitarian organizations and the ration program from the Iraq’s crude-oil sales.

The consolidation of the national currency and ensuring exchange rate stability, in spite of the difficulties faced by the country. It also possible to control inflation to some extent.
