    Thanks eric and ew,

I do believe that all involved are trying to make the 1:1 happen and they are working out all the logisitics. To me, that particular article came off a tad "not so sure this is a good thing for Iraq". I could definitely be wrong on that count.....figure some is lost in translation and also my inability to interpret.

I am also partial to the articles and posts that are totally "GO" for at least a 1:1 reval and was a little disappointed that all wasn't roses in their speculations (or my interpretation of their speculations).

Did not mean to come off negative. I believe we will all come away wealthier than we were before purchasing dinar, and still believing for a reval to everyone's benefit.

Oh, and I think this is a wonderful forum! Can't wait to meet all of you in person one day. Thanks for everyone's encouragement and faith that is displayed here.

    Monica

Arrow Fuel prices skyrocket as factional tensions intensify at Oil Ministry

Fuel prices have surged despite a reported hike in oil output.

The latest skyrocketing rates come nearly two weeks after the new Oil Minister Hussein Shahristani assumed his post.

The hikes, according to several ministry officials, are the result of policies which usually mirror factional and sectarian differences in the Iraqi political landscape rather than national interests.

A liter of gasoline has hit 1,500 dinars (a little more than one U.S. dollar), an unprecedented hike in a country which swims over massive lakes of crude oil reserves said to be the second largest in the world.

The official price of 250 dinars per liter is now a dream for many motorists as most of the filling stations in Baghdad have run out of subsidized fuel.

I hope I'm not off subject too much here either. I apologise if I am... I think the folks here have all had to struggle at least at some point in time and will be humble and generous if we're so lucky to be blessed with a nice peg. I know I've had to work for everything I have, and my kids have all waited tables (a must-do job experiance IMHO) and done many jobs to earn $$ for the things they want to do. I think it all means more when it doesn't come easy, and that's why I said "fabulous wealthy" people as opposed to "fabulously wealthy".
(If anything I'd probably need counseling just to get over the shock)..But I'll deal with THAT hurdle when it presents itself!!!

    Hi Guys and Ladies,

I been gone allday enjoying the weekend with my grown Children at a summer pool and cook out. I told them all I better get home and check in with the "Dinar Gang". Anyways I have just read all the post and this one besides Adster's caught me by suprise after reading Adster's Article.

Check this out "ph" has been blowing me away with his post.......anyways the way I see this post here is 1:1 is very real. Remember they will use their oil to back the peg also. And then Adsters post saying they need to get all the Banks and goods repriced to balance everything for this 1:1 revalue. Well if Gas just went from 250 dinar's for Liter to 1500 dinar's for a liter in a oil country, this puts their fuel cost even to our dollar cost.

My Freinds I am getting scared now. To me this is a balancing of fuel cost as our's would be in dollars here. So with this being one of the first balancing's I would say that 1:1 is right here knocking on the door. I dont want to get anyone over exserted by what i am saying. I am no exspert. But this is just to real for me right know, knowing that we are fixing to have a new fond wealth. I most leave right know before I say way to much. I will be back tomorrow. God Bless everyone of you.

    Default Hello All! :)

Hey, we have had a festival here in my town this weekend so i have been to busy checking in here. But i have read every posts now and it sure looks promising! Keep up the good work with bringing new articles!

02 July 2006 (Baghdad: Al Sabah newspaper)
The Ministry of State for Tourism has contracted the Construction Council of Kerbala to set up a large tourist complex at Air AL Tamar, a beautiful oasis of vegetation and flowing water, covered in date palms right in the centre of a desert area boasting incredible views.

An authoritative source at the Ministry said in a press statement that the Ministry has requested the formation of a joint committee from the Tourist Commission and the Governorate Council to prepare a detailed study with respect to the setting up of a modern tourist attraction.

The source added that the project falls within the Ministry's overall plan for establishing new tourist spots in suitable areas in order to develop Iraq's tourist industry.

Default Private Sector Plan to Increase Housing

02 July 2006 (Baghdad: Al Sabah newspaper)

The results of various in-depth studies show that the acute housing crisis will not be alleviated without the creation of 7 million housing units within the next 10 years. Following these findings, the Minister of Construction and Housing, Bayan Ismael Dazaie, has confirmed the importance of speeding up the execution of housing projects and the need to complete all projects related to the erection and maintenance of roads and bridges througout Iraq.

An authoritative source at the Ministry told AL Sabah that the Housing Fund is planning to finance the private sector to build housing units, thus helping overcome the acute housing crisis. The Fund is drawing up a strategy aimed at transforming the Fund into a pioneer in the field of housing sector financing.

With respect to roads and bridges, the Minister explained the strategic importance of the private sector and the government's resolve to prioritize two infrastructure projects by obtaining approval from the Council of Ministers to treat these two projects as exceptions with regard to financing and the finding of immediate solutions to problems.

AL Swaib Agriculture Project Near Completion

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

02 July 2006 (Baghdad: Al Sabah newspaper)

Specialist technical and agricultural teams from the Center for Reinhabiting the Southern Marshes at the Ministry of Water Resources are proceeding with the final stage of the AL Swaib project, which involves bringing back to life this distinct and highly fertile land that fell prey to negligence, disease and salinisation.

The Director General of the Center, Dr. Ali Hashem, said in a statement to AL Sabah that the reclaiming of the land is not only important in itself, but is also a first step towards larger reclamation projects.

Whatever, I loved your seven reasons (especially #7!!) I really think that the ROLClub Dinar Gang will make "fabulous" wealthy people, too. Personally, when I find myself wanting to order more, I'm thinking about how much more I would be able to do for friends, co-workers, my favorite charities and just people you run into who've suffered a tragedy or misfortune and need a helping hand. Oh, there's plenty I would do for my own and my husband's families as well, but won't it be wonderful to have the resources to reach out to others beyond our immediate circles! I think that would be awesome!!

Raditz, does that mean that we might have that post-peg party in Iraq, after all? I mean, we want to do our part to boost tourism if that is their new objective, right?
