Iraqi Investments Club
Interesting,
All this talk and concern about lopping, yet not one of these recent articles mentions it? Lifting, removing, knocking off, etc., but lopping is a term only used when currency is being devalued. So show me an article that states anyone saying there was talk of lopping and I will eat my dinar. Bottoms up everyone, time for a cold one.
Good luck to all, Mike

Hmmmmm...I guess I can just throw away all of those 50 dinar notes that I have! Just goes to show how reliable the 'news/reporters' are with their facts! lol!

Not according to iraqi news networks.
" Senior government and central bank officials"
LOL, we got the MoF, and Shabibi, not a gang of loose lipped know it alls, and neither of those two guys are gonna tell Reuters jack cheese.
"make one new dinar equal to 1,000 current dinars"
We have new dinars, whats a "current dinar"?
"This is the ministry's suggestion to the central bank. We think in the long term it will be for the benefit of Iraq."
uh huh, believing it.
"Jabor said surveys indicated popular support for the move."
And who completed the surveys? Iraqi citizens? Sure they wanna be poor, and watch their economy get flushed down the toilet HA HA !!! OK!!
"The oil-rich nation's currency was once worth more than $3"
BZZZZT!!! ...Try $4 lol
"rampant inflation"
Thats rich, rampant inflation lol
Lets wee what the state dept says about that...
"The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) also can intervene, when necessary, in order to maintain stability in the foreign exchange market."
http://www.state.gov/e/eb/ifd/2006/67643.htm
it's already stable, and has been, "maintain" vs. achieve.
