No Peg or reval yet. The exchange rate has been fairly steady around 1480 dinar to one USD, or a bit less. Most of us have to pay a fairly large mark up plus shipping to get it but inside iraq seems like he should be able to get it for very close to the exchange rate, so maybe 147,000 or a bit more for 100 USD maybe.

Maliki in Washington in two weeks

Head of the Prime Minister Nouri - Maliki to Washington during the next two weeks to meet with American President George Bush and his aides and congressional leaders.

The diplomatic sources said that the American ambassador in Iraq Zalmai Khalil, who has arrived in Washington recently is preparing to visit Maliki .

if i understand what you are asking, that wouldn't be the case. if for example currently there were 3 trillion dinars in circulation, backed by 11 billion USD, if you were to take 3 zeroes off of the value of the currency you would have 3 billion dinar in circulation backed by 11 billion USD, for every one dinar you would have 3.00++ USD in reserves. which is what a lop would be if they were considering for 3 zeroes worth. but that would be of no benefit to the people of the country or the government for that matter. it would wipe out the value of anyone holding dinar. you wouldn't be "raising" the value, you would just be changing the note you handover which buys the same thing.

going back to one of cigarmans earlier finds, when thinking about whether the lop is going to happen or not, does anyone actually think that iraqs message to the world is going to be that there currency is worth less than 1% of what it was during saddams rule before the war? i am thinking probably not. that is what would happen with a 3 zero lop.

Like this 0.000685555 will be .68 Then on to 1:1 then onto ?:1 until they reach their Goal of 3+:1 This is how My opinion Believes it to be are better. Even better if they used Euro. But I believe it will be the USD. Bush will be involved this week hopfully if Korea behaves. Anyways this is my view point. I have read all 3376 post and all articles by all. But It is my Opinion.
