My thought as to why...

In order to invest in another countries stock market you must first convert your curreny into theirs. Being that the IQD is not yet on the world market this makes it akward (if not impossible) for outside investors to be able to deal in the ISX, ect.

Then there is the exchange rate itself. If they opened up to FI without upping the exchange rate, they would be owned overnight for a few hundred million US.

The "IQD on the world market" is also an interesting situation. I am sure there was a very official statement that the currency is exchangable internationally with the HUGE restriction that futures trading was not yet allowed. Again it seems that they will want to do the reval before the open up that futures market since the expectation of the reval is so strong.

Great bunch of logical thinkers here, and with all that cigar and pips have presented, as well as others, I can retire. LOL

What we have is a puzzle, and each piece is needed for the whole, and that is why we need to see it all come together at the same time, piece by piece. This is pure logics as many have illustrated in plain simple language, so thanks again, great job.

As we have seen, law was decided upon weeks ago, and has passed, so now we await the formal announcements. As we have seen in Kurdistan, the level of economic smarts is far more advanced than in the ruiness Baghdad region due to Saddam running country into the ground for decades.

International investors want the law to protect their investments. We are seeing why in Venezuela wherby Chavez is taking oil investments away from outsiders and bringing it under governments control, so you can understand why laws are required in Iraq before foreign investors come in big time. This was already arranged in Kurdistan, so it only makes logical sense that all will follow their lead.

As to ISX, this too makes logical sense to have this coordinate with other aspects of international concern, for this is what Iraq desperately needs at this point in time. As with attracting international investors for oil exploration and bringing Iraq into the 21st century with technology, all this must be done immediately. They did not modernize the ISX with millions in computers with Iraqi only investors, this is obvious, so again, logically speaking, ISX needs to be ready at the same time.

Would it not make sense that the revalue be in place before the other announcements are made, or at worse, announce it all at once? I see each as an important component to the other, so that is what my take on things are, for I like to use logics too. LOL

Pat, you better not forget the lady's. They will never let you do it again. Ask Raddy. They have ganged him several times. They will get him at the "PEG PARTY".

Ewalt and I still have our Bike Run Planned. Waiting on the Peg before working out the details of the Trip. After the Peg we will start a list for the Map to meet everyone or pick you up to join us on the run. Details to follow latter. It will be cool. Little ideal below.

Us Dinar gang Run From Texas to the west California then up State and back across the upper plains to the Great lakes into New York, Then back down the East Coast thru Florida to Disney World and maybe on down to the Keys, And back on up thru Florida back west to Texas, stopping in Alabama Biloxie and New Orleans on the way. Complete Circle with meeting points and hang outs for day or two at each. Then others can continue own until they finish their circle back to the "crib". Mostlikly 3 to 4 week run.

I think the term is "Snowball efferct". It is going downhill fast as a locomotive and there ain't no stopping us until RV day.
