In my opinion it will still take time. from now to another year. But it will happen. So get some IQD now mate. You would not like to live to regret the day It PEG's. This investment is a time thing. When i bought 1.5 mil dinars, i was open for the PEG from time i bought them to next 4-5 years. Its a long term thing. But the rewards would be nice when the PEG happens.

Yea exactly, I have dinars, and I too see potential in Iraq which is why I obtained them. And I obtained them for "long-term" as I don't expect any peg soon. Yes, its a very good cheap investment with high potential in the future, but I just don't think it will happen anytime soon - few years down the road.

The US has already started building power plants that will supply power to most iraqi's for 18 to 24 hours by the end of the year. So, my response to this guy was do some research!! I still believe that we're close and the oil supply is BIGGER than everyone thought. Look for the Dinar to be at or above Kawait before the GCC takes effect in 2010. Just my thoughts.
    Interesting,

I think it is just the opposite, you need foreign investments to extract the most from the oil industry, and when this is accomplished, then there will be power, clean water, agriculture and all the rest required to fuel the economy, and you cannot have any of the above without a revalue being initiated before foreign investments law is announced.

    Good luck to all, Mike

    Interesting,

And on what specifically do you support this opinion on? I am sure all of us would value your well researched opinion since you are so convinced of it. Always open to learn why people say what they do, so go for it. We may not agree with your research and conclusion, but I would respect anyone who can give hard facts on issues to support their statement of a few years down the road.

    Good luck to all, Mike

Exactly Mike, a r/v has to happen prior to the passing of the FI Law.
Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

    Hi Adam,

Yes, funny indeed, almost like we were one and the same. LOL Educated minds think alike, indeed. I have learned more in the past couple years than I did in my whole life on international econonomies, so I am always open to learn more from those who bring valid arguments.

    Good luck to all, Mike
