The Ministry of Finance is investigating looking for what it called that one of the ministries’ undersecretaries had taken billions of Iraqi dinars as a private brokerages, this came as a violation to the Iraqi law.


An official source at the ministry, requested anonymity, stated to as-Sabah daily in a telephone call that the Minister of Finance Baqar Jober Solagh has adopted various procedures and issued a decision calling for freezing this undersecretary and halting him from work.

Hmm last week someone robs a Iraqi bank of one and a quarter trillion.. and now one of the undersecretaries takes billions of dinar... some one over there must believe its all going to be valuable soon... I think that's good news!

Yes I couldn't agree more. Why would you just steal paper are launder it if there was not something merking in the future.

Hummmmmm,

Remember what Mike and Adster said, As we get closer it will get stranger and crazier. Well, I would say this is exactly what is happening. It just keeps getting stranger and crazier everyday.

Tiffany... toooo funny Well I remember thinking when I saved it ... I'm so glad I found this re-traction because I would have felt like a real "dummy" telling a CPA that a professional TOLD us we could do it!! Oh well all the more proof we really need pros but I still appreciate any tid bits I can get... I can sort them out later...

Not necessarily - currency and its value is all relative.

To the undersecretary living in Iraq on Iraqi wages taking 1.5 billion dinar IS a lot of money - to us it isn't because our perception of dinar is in terms of its equivalency in US$.

But if you lived there and were on a wage of even 100,000 dinar per year (which I imagine would be a HIGH wage) then 1.5 billion dinar is a VERY large sum.

I am a great believer in the revaluation - but don't necessarily subscribe to the notion that a theft by an underscecretary being an indicator that it will definitely happen.
