When Iraq IS MENTIONED it's death, war, full-blown civil war...etc. Almost as though the media has to make the situation in Iraq just as bad as Israel...or else it won't be as 'news worthy'.
What would be wonderful, is if Maliki and the Iraqi's could get some things under control and get the economy going WHILE the spotlight isn't directly ON them...I am hoping that the meetings go off at the White House as planned in the next few days and that amazing things begin to happen for the Iraqi's REAL SOON...because in my opinion, that's what they truly need. (...and us too! )
I hear ya Flocky...but negativity BREEDS negativity...even with the people around you...would you rather be around a person that is smiling, up-beat and happy... (me! :woohoo:)..or a person that is scowling, nasty looking, and angry at the world? ( a certain past members' name comes to mind...rhymes with 'poops'!)Quote:

Somethin's-a-brewin'! :flame:
The Council of Ministers approved in its recent meeting unanimously new Iraqi investment law, and submitted to the House for a vote and adopted.
In statements made in a meeting with a number of businessmen and investors in some Gulf states during the last tour, Maliki pointed out that the forthcoming law passed by Parliament, containing items granted immunity and privileges of foreign capital are identical to the Iraqi capital.

I believe that the word "identical" in this statement is only meant to apply to the legal treatment of capital, foreign vs. domestic. I do not think this statement is intended to address the valuation of the dinar.

This does not seem like a good thing for the PEG! Are they basiscally asking the US to leave the country and let them fight their own battles. GOOD LUCK! Of course the USA has its' own agenda, and can they or should they not support Isreal in their battles. They all wnat their own piece of their land and the abiliity to govern it somewhat- that is not something that is going to happen any time soon.
