Very happy with that indeed!
1,000,000. = approx. $800.+ CAD! Good deal as
(under $900. CAD) far as I am concerned.

Too right Mike. The Scotia bank that I went to was very efficient.
2 days, and a fee of 8 bucks, now that was easy! Don't even need an account with them. Thanks to Rob McCallum for the info.
These came from the Bank of America.
Also the Bank manager asked if I was going to Iraq, I said no,
and she asked why I was buying, I said that I was expecting the
Iraq dinar to rise in value.
She just smiled and said; "Smart lady" . That was a good sign to me.

For anyone else wanting to buy their dinars from Scotiabank here in Canada, you do have to physically go into one of the branches to order your dinar you cannot do it over the net.
Loki, just so you know, I purchased that book "The Tax Collector's Bible" and would be happy to send you a copy by email. It's quite a long book but I'm sure worth the read. Maybe you can go over it and tell me what it's about and how we can save taxes for our dinar LOL. Send me a PM with your email addy and I'll see if I can send the full thing by email. Time for bed now!
Cheers all,
Rob

Hey Monica... I tried to buy through Bank of America a few months ago and they would not sell direct to me... so I went to Calif. Trust and they purchased it
FROM B of A and filled my orders..: It was under $800... they ordered it and in about 2 days it showed up at the branch and I picked it up.. The good thing about using the bank is... you can bet its been checked to be sure its the real thing...

Petrel making Iraq progress on oil contract Irish Independent
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
27 July 2006 (Financial Times)
SHAREHOLDERS in Petrel Resources were told at the agm yesterday the company has made good progress on its oil development contract in Iraq.
"Petrel's priority is the $197m Subba & Luhais oilfield development services contract in southern Iraq.
"This is the biggest contract awarded by the Iraqi Ministry of Oil since 2003 and is on track and on budget," managing director David Horgan said.
He added that engineering design is under way with 75pc of the basic design package complete.
"We expect a final review in late August triggering a second milestone payment," he added.
A work programme for the Merjan oilfield in central Iraq began in May 2006.
"Petrel has now received the data package and our technical staff and contractors have processed the seismic data.
"It is now being reinterpreted. We hope to complete the study by year end," Mr Horgan said.
A fully sovereign Iraqi government has taken office following successful elections with a high success rate, Mr Horgan said.
A priority of the new government is to review the Hydrocarbon Law establishing the basis for foreign participation in Iraqi oil and gas, he said._________________________________________

U.S., Iraqi officials discuss oil, gas sectors and Iraqi economy
27 July 2006 (PortAl Iraq)
U.S. Department of Energy (DoE) Secretary Samuel W. Bodman today hosted Iraq's Minister of Oil Hussein al-Shahristani and Minster of Electricity Karim Wahid Hasan to discuss the rehabilitation and expansion of Iraq's energy infrastructure.
The Ministers' visit to the Department came in response to Secretary Bodman's invitation to talk to professionals in electricity generation, transmission and distribution, and oil sector development.
"The U.S. government is committed to providing scientific and technical assistance to help the Iraqi people expand their energy sector," Bodman said. "We encourage and support Iraqi-led changes and reforms as the people of Iraq work through the challenges of building a new democracy and a new economy."
Bodman encouraged the Ministers to continue progress on economic and management reforms, including commercialization of the energy sector.
Secretary Bodman reiterated his commitment to continue a dialogue with the Ministries of Oil and Electricity, following his trip to Iraq last week. The trip included discussion regarding ways in which the U.S. DoE can assist in rebuilding Iraq's energy infrastructure.
During Secretary Bodman's meeting with Electricity Minister Karim Wahid Hasan, the two signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the U.S. Department of Energy and the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity. The MoU formalizes the increased bilateral cooperation between the two nations in the areas of energy analysis, science, technology, and energy awareness and education.
During his meeting with Minister al-Shahristani, Secretary Bodman stressed the importance of developing and implementing a national hydrocarbon law, which will allow much needed foreign investment in the oil and natural gas sector of their economy and ensure Iraq's natural resources are used for the benefit of all the Iraqi people, according to the DoE.
In addition, at Minister al-Shahristani's request, Secretary Bodman convened a meeting of oil sector leaders to discuss how the private sector can help Iraq develop its energy infrastructure and the role of a national hydrocarbon law in Iraq.
According to the DoE, the business leaders discussed infrastructure rehabilitation and expansion opportunities, technology and technical capabilities, and the need for transparent and consistent laws and guidelines that will allow investment to flourish.
The DoE currently provides technical experts to the Iraq Reconstruction Management Office and the U.S. Embassy Baghdad, and will be pursuing joint projects to further strengthen the bilateral relationship with Iraqi energy and scientific ministries._________________________________________
