I don't remember a quote like that Benzboy..But with all the contributions made here by members in the last month I think the consensus is that everything is in place for the reval and it's really Bagdad's security issues in large part that's holding it up? Anyone?

Are you at liberty to say which company? And what kind of statement, if any, did they give for why?

    Thanks,

Hi Monica, I didn't make any attempt to get an explanation and was a little reluctant to post the company because I did not want them to be swamped with questions. That said, the statement is on their public web site so there should be no problem posting that information here. The web site is:

    New Iraq Currency

    and the statement says:

    IMPORTANT NOTICE
Our Offices will be closed From August 3rd -13th 2006.
Our website will continue to accept your orders 24hrs a day during this period, and they will be processed in order starting the week of August 14th 2006.

Default Iraq PM Criticizes U.S.-Led Attack

    Iraq PM Criticizes U.S.-Led Attack
BAGHDAD, Iraq Aug 7, 2006 (AP)— Iraq's prime minister sharply criticized a U.S.-Iraqi attack Monday on a Shiite militia stronghold in Baghdad, breaking with his American partners on security tactics as the United States launches a major operation to secure the capital.
Al-Maliki, a Shiite, said he was "very angered and pained" by the operation, warning that it could undermine his efforts toward national reconciliation.
"Reconciliation cannot go hand in hand with operations that violate the rights of citizens this way," al-Maliki said in a statement on government television.
Friction between the U.S. military and the Iraqi government emerged as the U.S. military kicks off a military operation to secure Baghdad streets after a surge in Sunni-Shiite violence much of it blamed on al-Sadr's militia.
Al-Sadr has emerged as a major figure in the majority Shiite community and a pillar of support for al-Maliki. The prime minister's remarks underscore the difficulties facing the Americans in bringing order to Baghdad at a time when Iraqis are increasingly resentful of the presence of foreign troops.

Like it or not, believe it or not...someday, Maliki will be leaving his seat vacant to the next successor and it may not be a Shi'ite....

Follow the politics and that's where your money resides... but not this soon...still too soon! With Iran behind, Syria scheming somewhere in the distance, the war front engaging in Lebanon... Taliban backed insurgents as still a pain for their Afghan butts ...and Dinars up and coming or creeping further as yet...sigh... its another long drawn haul for the waiting few here...

I'm waiting myself...but with an open mind and yes...more patience than some here can fathom what patience is like to getting pegged already...

Have another peg for the nightcap I suggest.... try an Irish Bailey instead...do you good if a Guinness is too heavy for ya...

al-maliki can get as upset with the U.S. as he wants to....it does'nt change the "FACT" that his "RECONCILIATION" plan has'nt come close to working yet.....add that probably half of his ministers are either corrupt or borderline corrupt and it makes for a terrible situation.....seems like he's getting scared to step on certain militias toes....its one thing to say what he says with his threats...its another to actually carry them out....IMHO...GO DINARS...Pat
