Seems like I've jumped onto the train just in time.
I didn't think much of buying Dinars. But after I followed a discussion on the Shout Box I changed my mind. I've only bought 1 Million Dinar last week, and I've been notified yesterday that they'd be shipped to me today using FedEx.
Can't wait until they arrive....

investment vs dinar
I have heard there are many benefits to opening an account in Iraq and then allowing them to buy stock for you when the ISX opens to foreign investors. Has anyone advice or opinions about this?

Iraqi Investments Club
Greetings,
Technically, this is old information and it really doesn't apply any longer as the International Investment Law is before Parliament for ratification which allows everyone to invest directly, and since the ISX is about to be open to stock trades electronically for first time, we will have access without need for an account in Iraq.
Good luck to all, Mike

I made and simply for enquiry sake. The situation is such that opening an account is pretty pointless unless you can show that U R planning to relocate there, lock stock & barrel, foreign investors will not be allowed to trade in local share markets.
For the deep side of the formalities, ask any embassy when a country restricts outsiders to trade in local markets, even by opening a local account...
Consider yourself darn fortunate that you can get a piece of the cake from a distant through buying up their currency Dinar bills...

I'm soooooo excited!!!
Yes, I saw that the reading is due on the 10th. Boy am I excited. The pieces are falling right into place. IMHO when they announce the reading being done they will reval asap. I wish I knew what date the new MOF will be starting, but since he was over the CBI I guess he can announce it in either capacity. He WILL reval the dinar. I think tomorrow night late my time there will be some interesting news. OH NO! Another sleepless night. LOL. Mike, Adster, do believe they will announce the reval Thursday or wait until Sunday? I think that if they announced it Thursady they could do the switch over while the banks are closed for their Weekend.

PIPS, that's funny because I heard the governor of the CBI accepted the position of the MOF. Mike, Adster do you know the answer? I heard the MOF, minister of trade and something else were being replaced for a total of 3.
