Iraqi PM announces launching of phase two of Baghdad security plan

BAGHDAD, Aug 10 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki officially announced Thursday the launching of phase two of the Baghdad security plan aimed at controlling tension and subduing violence and terrorism.

A statement issued by Al-Maliki, who is also general commander of the armed forces, said that the forces of the defense and interior ministries, supported by the multi-national forces, had launched the second phase of the security plan.

He noted the achievements of the first phase, which had commenced on June 14, 2006, in which a large number of "terrorists and extremists" had been killed and arrested, as well as the confiscation of arms and weapons.

On the second phase, Al-Maliki said it aimed to bring stability and security to Iraqis, thus paving the way for a flourishing economy and luxury, as well as reconstruction.

The prime minister called upon Iraqi factions, leading clerics, and prominent academic and social figures to support the troops in their mission by encouraging people to report suspicious activities of terrorist and follow security instructions.

Moreover, Al-Maliki called upon them to consolidate national unity and renounce sectarianism and counter-terrorism efforts. (end) mhg.

Even if the FIL was passed today I don't believe there will be an announcement until they're ready to release the info with a r/v, so yes it's probably been done behind closed doors and they're waiting for the right time to announce both the r/v and the FIL. Next week? Could be......

Baghdad d b a : The National Security Advisor Iraqi conciliator spring yesterday arrested five people, described as "dangerous" members of al-Qaeda in Iraq and the killing of others in the context of security, widespread in Baghdad. I could not understand him very well, but I thought he said one four or one forty which could be .14 or 1.40 to four eight or four eighty which could mean .48 or 4.80, but please, I state again, that I could hardly hear or understand him. And this conversation took place 2 years ago.

He is not in Iraq at this time and it seems that he has been absent from there for quite awhile.

He keeps saying that he will get into contact with his cousin, Gov of CBI, and let us know what he finds out.

Another speaker, part of freedinar, says that the IMF is involved with CBI to get dinar on world market. Have to balance the amount of cash they have, 11bill, to the reval. The IMF will back them with a reval.

I too was disappinted with the call. It was pre-recorded and not quite up to date. I do appreciate the fact that freedinar was able to get the cousin of the CBI on the call, eventhough he was pretty clueless about the reval.

I'm hoping that the cousin will be able to get some info about the reval from the Gov of CBI.

That too was a little puzzling to me. Why does the cousin of the CBI not know about the reval? I would think all the Fam would know and be able to make a fortune off of the soon to be reval. Don't you?

I wasn't on the call... guess I didn't miss anything... but they have been sending out emails advertising that they now take credit cards... unfortunately their focus is on sales... every once in a while you can get a tid bit of news but
sounds like thats drying up,,.
