This is the kind of crap I'm talking about from other forums
Exclamation This just in!
Reprint coming October 09, 2006 with a .68 RV then it will float. One of my business associates heard this from someone at the NYSE! It was also mentioned on TV. So it will be .68 on the dinar. So you will have to exchange first @ 1,000 to 1! So you will give them 1,000 dinar then they will give you a 1 dinar note. Which will then be worth .68 to 1 USAD. So as of now your 1,000,000 dinars are going to be worth $ 680.00 in the new new currency! So in the end with the float we may see the dinar go to 2 to 3 dollars in 5 years. So actually we may be able to double the funds invested! What a great deal after all! I believe he said it would be a 6 week exchange period too!
Peace Out!
Good luck to all!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Fletch one of the great things about holding dinar is that there is NO argument against a revaluation. It HAS to be revalued.. the only questions are WHEN and at WHAT LEVEL..
That is why all the various posts by people who claim "inside information" cause the emotional roller coaster...
We are all sitting in either nice position, a wonderful position or a FABULOUS position.. Its not a matter of there being any BAD. just a matter of how GOOD it is..
Its getting closer and closer.. and soon.. DinARGASM ! Hope its soon!!

I don't think this is a probable scenario...because the reval will NOT have any bearing on the locals (except in the long run; better prices, supplies etc).
Because for WHAT would the locals exchange their dinars?
I don't know where you live, but say you are in the USA. When the dollar revaluates (which it does now and then because it is floating), you don't go and exchange it...You COULD exchange for another currency of course, but couln't use that in the US...so eventually you would have to exchange it back to dollars - and pay the higher price for them.
So a reval is really only good for people who exchange it for OTHER currencies...

Ps. Anybody - correct me if I am wrong!

Agreed, the only thing that can fail us is a full blown civil war. I've heard Iran are putting as many spanners in the r/v as possible and has delayed it thus far and they're doing a good job. Last thing they want is the US to pay for the war with a revalued dinar/get rich off Iraq's back.
I have faith it will be worked out. The IMF will come down hard on Shabibi if he doesn't sort out the inflation level. He knows that. A r/v is the answer.Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.
Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.
