If you go onto the Bloomberg website under Currency Calculator, the Iraqi Dinar is listed there and gives you the current currency exchange rate. Is this what you all are talking about because it is listed under there. I don't get it.....am I missing something here?
This sucks, I gotta head off to the crumby day job so I won't be able to read any responses for a good 11 hrs lol. By that time they'll be at least 5-6 pages to go through LOL. Oh well........Peg that dinar already!!!!!!
Cheers all,
Rob

Maybe they are reading this site and deciding somethings going to happen so they are listing it. A kind of self-perpetuating circle.

I love seeing activity that is quietly going on.
Activity that we catch but that slips under the radar of the rest of the world as they listen to only the bad news on Iraq.
Adster.. as a good natured ribbing, in seeing your comment. You KNOW.. you could just add " 80% sure this month 100% sure by next month" and you would not have had to change your signature since June lol.
Still lookin forward to that DinARgasm.

(Voice of Iraq) - 15-08-2006
Listen Central quoting space "Iraqi" 14 August 2006 :
Deputy Prime Minister Sallam Alzobei'i during his visit to the Iraqi Information on the need to pitch the government all of its energies to put an end to the tragedy of the citizens of the lack of oil derivatives, and work to provide the best services to Iraqi citizens.
He Alzobai : "The government bears responsibility, the government must mobilize all its energies and the Minister of Oil to pitch every Agath to put an end to this farce, as witnessed at petrol stations, and the queues and these outrageous prices, is a real tragedy deserves to stand then. "
Alzobai He added : "The oil in Iraq is a conspiracy to large networks of smuggling and has briefed Mr. Prime Minister web a few days ago, terrorist network personalities that trade, and knew Ttalon one district at night, you can see how they are smuggled oil and leave, ignominy and shame each of conspiracy against Iraq, shame, shame and Alflah both satisfied that he Secretariat, who were the main reason for the paralysis of the events of this oil wealth and registered their names are known and will be given punished and will not escape justice. "
On the fuel crisis, said Dr. Falah Al-Amri general manager of the Iraqi oil marketing company (Somo) in a statement to the Iraqi satellite : "requirements needed by Iraq's consumption is about (55) tons per day of each of products including gasoline, gas oil, kerosene and liquid gas, But the actual production of these products is approximately (25) tons per day and this significant difference between production and consumption quantity to be consumed. We company SOMO our fundamental duty is to export crude oil in addition to the export of fuel oil, petroleum Black But the fundamental task was added to us is that we bridge the shortfall in these products through to complete import shortage, Since the beginning of this year have been allocated (213) million a month to meet the shortfall, This amount was appropriated by the Iraqi government was founded on the basis that there might be a plan to improve refinery improvement in the production of electric power. "
And the importation of fuel, he said : "For import problems including lack of allocations decline in the production of filters that require us to bridge the shortfall and replenish the needed financial resources. financial resources allocated at the beginning of this year, which is (213) million are no longer sufficient in July. We Suffice needs of the country to fill the shortfall, we need to (708) millions of dollars a month while the allowance is (213) million. Certainly, this coincides with the closing of the Bay'a refinery as a result of vandalism and the reluctance of production, These factors led to the exacerbation of the crisis, no company SOMO and Distribution Company, Mr. Iraqi Oil Minister until Mr. Prime Minister have spared no effort in resolving this crisis. "
In response to a question about whether there are any solutions to this crisis near the general manager of the Iraqi oil marketing company (SOMO) : "We know that if the crisis can not be solved magically. The solution is now available to us is that the Prime Minister had agreed to double the amount (213) million Sunday at the same time will get on (150) million in additional investment plan, - (363) million will be allocated during this week to import additional oil products, especially in Baghdad and the northern region. that the northern region also has suffered during the prior period due to the reluctance of imports from Turkey. Baghdad also escalated the crisis, which had relied heavily on the Bay'a refinery, It stopped Bay'a refinery contributed significantly to increasing the crisis in Baghdad. "
Regarding the visit of Dr. Nouri Maliki Arabian Gulf and the agreement on the re-activation of importing oil derivatives in particular through the portal Kuwaiti Falah Al-Amri said : "We renewed our contract with KPC, The focus was initially on petrol and gasoline started to flow since the beginning of July so far, the flow of cars. About (40) cars daily, and is distributed in the Middle Euphrates area, but today we contacted the Kuwait Oil Company and carriers, try as much as possible to pass on part of this car to Baghdad. "

I would like to get information from some of you regarding the reval. From what I understand, Parliament isn't going to have anything to do with the reval - they are 275 people from so many opposing factions that they could never agree on anything. Aren't the CBI and the World Bank the ones to determine the reval of the Dinar?
I understand that Bush and the new Minister of Finance are both of the same mind for a very high reval - Bush wants a 1 for 1 ratio.
Do they have to get rid of all their debt before this happens?
Inflation is so very high there now, isn't a reval going to HAVE to happen soon for the people there?
Anyway, I cruise from web site to web site and try to absorb. Would like enlightenment on my questions please.
