Great news! This is the latest in a series of major countries who have stated their willingness for international trade with Iraq(WTO time), AS THE PERMANENT GOVERNMENT IS INSTALLED.This demand for foreign countries to want to trade with Iraq will put further demand on the dinar to become a convertible currency, as the Iraqis continue to work to end the current dual currency system in Iraq.
Also, higher purchasing power for the dinar will help keep demand higher for foreign imports. 2006 is quickly approaching, my friends. :0)
Not too late to buy your dinar, pm me for details.Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Well, I found out what my mistake was...I tought that currency board and central bank was the same... -_-
Obviously, under a currency board system a high peg would have needed too much reserve money to be realistic and would be much more vulnerable to a run. Thats what got me doubting..but anyway, with that cleared up, I can only agree with what you said earlier Adster, except that i'm wondering if its more likely that instead of a big r/v like 0.3 in january, they do it more progressively in smaller increments over time as Iraq rebuilds its infrastructures and security? 0.0007 to 0.3 seems like a drastic step to take this early.

I've found this information on a currency conversion site. Perhaps someone can look at it and let me know what you think.

Mick,
This is old news and been discussed plenty of times.
zik,
A r/v would have to be more significant than at that rate or there'd be no point. Also thousands of speculators would buy up in anticipation of the rate going up, so no I don't see a rate that low IMO.Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Well done Raditz. This IMO is currently the best investment out there offering the best return in the short, mid and long term.
