Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

With the recent robberies, hoarding of dinars, and counterfeiting the dinars, sounds to me like these people think their exchange rate will be worth a lot more soon.

    COALITION AND IRAQI PEOPLE
    WORK TO MAKE IRAQ SECURE
BAGHDAD, Iraq-Iraqi citizens continue to cooperate with Coalition forces, preventing attacks and breaking up a counterfeit operation.

Local citizens prevented two possible attacks by informing 1st Armored Division soldiers of the location of improvised explosive devices. In the first incident, a taxi driver reported the location of a possible IED to soldiers on patrol. An explosive ordnance team determined the IED was a 155 mm shell with a circuit board and wires. The EOD team disabled the device. The other IED location tip came from a walk in source. Upon arrival, the unit found a 105 mm round with wiring set to detonate in a white bag with two rocket-propelled grenade rounds beside it.

The 1st AD, acting on a tip from a local source regarding a possible counterfeit money operation raided a house in Baghdad on Aug 12. In the raid, 1st AD confiscated millions of uncut counterfeit Dinar, pictures of Saddam, copiers, computers and various weapons. In another house search, 1st AD seized more than 4 million Iraqi Dinar; an assortment of weapons and more than 500 hundred rounds of small arms ammunition.

    Iraqi Security Forces Detain 77
    Friday, August 18, 2006 6:43 AM EDT
    The Associated Press
    By ROBERT H. REID

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) — Gunmen attacked a convoy of civilian trucks Friday, killing one guard, and a cache of arms was seized in a Baghdad mosque, officials said. Security forces detained 77 people across Iraq in a crackdown on sectarian and political extremists.

The convoy carrying unspecified goods had just left Baghdad for the northern city of Irbil when it came under attack in Taji, 10 miles north of the capital, said police Lt. Ahmed Al-Qaisi.
He said one guard riding alongside in an SUV was killed and another was injured.

Iraqi police found five bodies with gunshot wounds in Mahmoudiya, 20 miles south of Baghdad, and a roadside bomb killed one person in Balad Ruz, 45 miles northeast of Baghdad.

A statement by the General Command of the Armed Forces said Iraqi soldiers raided the Al-Sediq Sunni mosque in Baghdad's Ghazaliyah neighborhood after a tip and confiscated mortar shells, a belt of explosives likely to be used by a suicide bomber, 27 wire communications sets, rocket propelled grenade launchers and magazines of bullets.

Ghazaliyah, a predominantly Sunni area, is one of the most volatile neighborhoods of Baghdad and has been targeted by Iraqi and U.S. forces in a new security crackdown in an effort to stem the sectarian violence between Sunnis and Shiites.

Some 12,000 additional U.S. and Iraqi forces have been sent to Baghdad to enforce peace in the capital.

The tit-for-tat attacks between the two communities since the Feb. 22 bombing of a Shiite mosque has raised fears of an all-out civil war, and diverted resources needed to fight the 3-year-old Sunni insurgency by loyalists of Saddam Hussein.

Friday's statement did not say if any arrests were made at the mosque, but listed the results of the nationwide crackdown: 77 detained in the last 24 hours including 31 people with strong evidence of terrorist activities against them.

It said the 31 included four Iraqis who were caught planting a roadside bomb south of Baghdad, five Egyptians and a man who had obtained a security clearance pass for the highly protected Green Zone, an enclosed area in Baghdad containing government headquarters and the U.S. facilities.

The security operation follows a sharp spike in violence in the country — about 3,500 Iraqis were killed in July in sectarian or political violence nationwide, the highest monthly toll for civilians since the war started in March 2003.

On Thursday, U.S. officials confirmed that 2,625 roadside bombs — directed mostly against American or Iraqi forces — exploded or were discovered before detonation in July, a sharp rise compared to 1,454 bombs in January.

The figures suggest that the Sunni Arab insurgency is gaining strength despite setbacks, including the June 7 death of al-Qaida in Iraq leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, killed in a U.S. airstrike northeast of Baghdad.

    Unhappy F.I.L not passed yet

    Dear Mr. xxxxxxx
It is always a pleasure to provide you with my personal assistance fulfilling your financial and investment requirements with great care and efficiency.
Please note that the law has not yet been passed. Further amendments and adjustments are being made to its clauses.
I do hear that it is at its final stages but there is nothing official.
The media is just speculating in the attempt of being one step ahead in reporting premature information.

Once the law will be implemented the ISX will take 2% for transferring it to your name (1% to sell it from the company name and the other 1% is to buy it in your name).

    This from Warka Raddy???

Anyone seen the latest rumour knocking around!? Well, here it is below!!

About two years ago, my brother who works for the U.S. State Department told me to invest in the new Iraqi Dinar. He said it was a good investment, I trusted his judgment so I bought 4 million dollars worth. Since then, I've bought an additional 5 million.

Without going into great detail, my brother sets up protection/security for medium/high profile Iraqi Officials. He has done this all over the world...not only in Iraq.

Please let this be noted...No Iraqi Official has ever told him when a reval would occur. He hears rumors himself…he has heard a reval any where between .01 to 3.10.

Now, what he does base his judgment on is his knowledge of his job, what he hears from other U.S. State Department Personnel, and the fact that Baghdad is getting ready for something big.

Could he be wrong? Absolutely! But in his mind, it is getting close…real close.

My friend told me about this site two months ago. I’m on it every once in a while, and it seems like a pretty good site. However, if you keep bashing people, it won’t be beneficial to the cause/making money.

I hope I cleared up some questions. By the way, I’m not Wiseguy, nor am I a Diner dealer. I’m not trying to stir the pot, just giving information that was given to me.
