Hey Cigarman,
This link is the call before last one with cousin of CBI, who did not tell us a thing. Was there something I missed?
Wish we could find where they are broadcasting the time of this meeting for the reval. Talk about excitement!
Thanks for all your hard work finding us good info!

Hey readytogo, I notice that too. Just by what everyone says. I never hear the call either. But if you listen to the guy after the cousin, it is pretty interesting. But all this today is not based on just that. Have a look at "ph's" post # 5904 and this is where it started today.
What I did like only about the recording is that the IMF is involved with the CBI. That all by it self help more then most will ever know. Have fun.

Iraq refineries production up to 11 mln liters a day - minister
By Dergham Mohammed Ali
Diwaniya, Aug 20, (VOI) – Iraqi oil refineries production was raised to 11 million liters per day from eight million, Oil Minister Hussein al-Shahrestani.
Iraq is suffering a severe fuel shortage and the cabinet approved last week doubling the allocations for importing oil products from $213 million currently to help eases the shortage.
“An agreement was concluded with Iran to provide Iraq with one million tons of natural gas daily,” Shahrestani told al-Iraqiya TV channel on Saturday.
He said that it was also agreed to import one million liters per day of kerosene from Iran in preparation to the winter.
“There is no single solution for the current fuel shortage, but there a pack of solutions including importing oil products and encouraging investments,” Shahrestani said.
He expected the crisis to ease off during the coming days.Last edited by pipshurricane; 21-08-2006 at 03:09 AM.

Hey you all! I know this was posted before in part, but I just found it for myself. Go to the link and read under conversion and transfer policies. Let me know what you think. I think I am excited!
CURRENCY CONVERSION AND TRANSFER POLICIES
The currency of Iraq is the Dinar (ID - sometimes referred to as the New Iraqi Dinar). Iraq's current exchange system is characterized as a free foreign exchange system, with no restrictions on purchases or sales of foreign currencies. The Iraqi currency is fully convertible and can be exchanged freely with any other currency. In addition, there is free movement of capital without restrictions on capital inflows and outflows. Iraq's foreign exchange regime is also a multi-currency system in which foreign currencies circulate in the market and are accessible to everyone.
The exchange rate is generally determined on the basis of supply and demand conditions in the foreign exchange market. Banks may engage in spot transactions in any currency, but are not allowed to engage in forward transactions in Iraqi Dinar for speculative purposes. The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) also can intervene, when necessary, in order to maintain stability in the foreign exchange market. In addition, there are no taxes or subsidies on purchases or sales of foreign exchange.

Probably already been posted but I'm too lazy to check...Kuwait bank rate is always cheaper than Iraq's. The rate has not changed....yet.

Morning guys.
Anyone seen the CBI's site is changing, they're modernising it and upgrading it......
Also, steakman, did you get on the conference call on Saturday night???Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.
Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.
