I asked if Parliment was or wasn't on vacation?
Answer he gave was: They are on a working vacation.. their religious
holiday is Sept. doesnt know if Parliment will take time for it or not..

Yeah - that response I posted was directly from the BOA foreign exchange department. Not especially helpful. Oh, well - I imagine when each NID is worth .10 or .30 or .68 or 3.22 (!), there will be no shortage of people and institutions willing to take them off my greedy little paws.

The Holiday in September is their Ramadan. It starts I believe around Sept. 14 and will last for about 45 days. Not absolutely sure of length of time but for 30 to 45 days.

Answer: They believe it has been passed but waiting for ratification..

They say the religious holidays will be two months .going thru Oct..due

Spoke about Min. of Finance being thrown out & replaced will cause delay..

Reval by end of month? Iraqi banks trying to hold more $ in banks.. looks like it could but cant say..

I asked if extra troops & security in Bagdad are as rumor says.. to protect smaller notes? He heard that rumor also but doesn't know for sure..

Says some banks like B oA are training employees how to take care of
exchanges and trade ins...

Look at the post above Weston. I have spoke with them in person as I opened a account for this with them. My Bank Wachovia, Their Branch here in my town is to small to handle it here and want to take a couple days with my dinar's. Not on your life will they leave my hand. Bank are no Bank. I also Have accounts with Wells fargo and they will be as simple as BOA. I also have accounts at several smaller Banks and want to open more. But these dont know what a peso is. No just kidding, they are just to small. I will help grow them.

He says they are still expecting a 47% internal rise but more than likely happen at the same time it hits the international market..

Feels the rv is neccessary to compact the inflation ... reason needs to rv or peg..

Asked about a unified currency planned for 2010... Iraq currently is not included in that plan..
