What does "monitization" mean?
I think it has something to do with "counting the oil as money", thus making it possible to use the oil as a means of backing areval, but I don't know...
And feel too lazy to go and check it up in my diccionary! (Besides, I'm sick; got a cold with fever which I haven't had for ages so I feel totally "decked"...so I have an excuse for being lazy!!! )

Iraq Seeks Troops For N Iraq Oil Facilities -Ex Oil Min
TEHRAN -(Dow Jones)- Iraq is seeking troops to protect its northern oil facilities from saboteurs, former Iraqi oil minister Ibrahim Mohammad Bahr Al Olom said Saturday.
"I believe that the only solution we have is to increase our military forces in the north," the former oil minister told Dow Jones Newswires, while in Iran to attend an industry event. "We are moving in a clear direction towards the Iraqi army taking charge of the north."
The northern Iraqi oil fields produced a total of around 8.5 million barrels of oil in July, Bahr Al Olom said, but he added that the northern pipeline and facilities continue to suffer from sabotage.
"The north is doing good as far as production is concerned, but not so far as the security is concerned."
Meanwhile, southern Iraq has increased its oil production versus a year ago, mainly because the Southern Oil Company has drilled wells and completed some exploration work there, Bahr Al Olom said.
"We are making progress," he said. "We are increasing production in the south, where production is now around 2.1 million barrels a day. This compares to last year, when it was at 1.9 million barrels a day."
The former oil minister expressed confidence that the oil-related work will continue in the south.

Bureaucratic error delays US-Iraqi handover
Bureaucratic error delays US-Iraqi handover
September 02, 2006 09:30pm
Article from: Reuters
A CEREMONY in which Iraq was to assume operational command of its new armed forces from US-led troops was postponed today at the last minute amid confusion, a US military spokesman said, citing poor planning.
The event had been hailed by the US military as a big step towards Iraq taking responsibility for security, key to any eventual withdrawal of US forces.
US commanders, with 140,000 troops on the ground, would still have a big say.
"There was an error in planning between us and the Iraqi defence minister over the ceremony. This all boils down to a bureaucratic thing," said Lieutenant Colonel Barry Johnson, adding that the ceremony had been rescheduled for tomorrow.
Lt-Col Johnson played down suggestions the glitch reflected logistic and communication problems between the two forces.
Reporters who had been invited to attend the ceremony in Baghdad's heavily fortified Green Zone were left sitting in a bus for more than one hour as the US military first informed them that the event had been delayed for later in the day and then postponed until tomorrow.
The US military, suffering almost daily casualties, has been training Iraq's new military so that it can begin withdrawing some of its own soldiers.
Iraq's Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki has said his forces would take control of most of Iraq from US-led foreign troops by the end of the year.
The top US commander in Iraq, General George Casey, who was scheduled to attend the ceremony, said this week he saw Iraqi forces having control of their own security in the next 12-18 months.

Here ya go Karin. I wanted to know too. And you were correct.
MONETIZE:
1. To convert into money.
2. To convert from securities into currency that can be used to purchase goods and services.
For example, you'll often hear Internet marketers talk about "monetizing website visitors." This is another way of saying that the marketers are trying to figure out a way of making money from website visitors, such as through advertising, e-commerce, etc.

Exchange Rate
Quote[Yes ...... Sorry. 0.000763 But the CBI Site: Exchange Rates still shows the 0.00068 1477 to $1]
Don't get too excited... this will simply be the difference between their buying and selling rates, and not an indication that things are on the move.
Let's hope something happens soon though.
