good posts Rodney....only wish the Iraqi government would move as fast as the iraqi army and coalitiion troops are moving...seems like they are more worried about postponing meetings then to "MEET" and iron out the differences....they have been on a month long siesta and they come back and the first thing they do is postpone the session till after labor day.....they don't celebrate labor day in Iraq......lol....if they hurry up and revel the dinar then it would be a blessing to their people and might just curb this sect fighting because they might see that they could profit from this...the longer they stay without revel the sect killings will continue...IMHO....GO DINARS...Pat

Anyone who would have the kind of inside info we want would never spend time in a forum or tell anyone who hangs out in forums, LOL...so I just laugh at the dates that are given and appreciate them purely for the entertainment value. They have ALL been wrong so far and will continue to be until this thing actually does the peg deed. Keep 'em coming though, I need a good laugh every once in awhile!!

Funny,
Never is a word that does not compute and no matter how disappointed you may be over previous updates and wishful thinking on dates and otherwise good news, $hit happens, but never say never is a lesson I learned long ago. (g)
It will happen, and soon, it has to, and most everyone knows this by now having seen it talked about, mentioned in numerous press releases and by gov. officials, so all we need to be is patient.
Good luck to all, Mike

Hi Monica,
Sorry, this makes no sense to me, so I didn't bother commenting when I first read it. Rates are set based on consistant factors for exchange, and it would not vary based on amount you would exchange to my knowledge, at least not in any bank for they deal in current posted exchange rates, always have, so I don't know what Suzie was talking about.
Good luck to all, Mike

A ton of good info!!
Looks like Iraq is going to use oil as monetization. Could be quite a nice reval, possibly what shotgunsuzie has been saying. Anyway read the whole pdf file, long read but you will understand where some of our info was gotten from.
RV is on the table......

"Finally, the CBI will consider the possibility of a gradual appreciation of the Iraqi dinar if needed, which could have a positive effect on both inflation and the process of dedollarization."

Looks like this could actually be the week
Alot of things that were to come later are all of a sudden coming now.

It is hoped in the near future from Ministry of Finance to participate in this system with the gradual entry of other banks operating in Iraq and as the system will be a better opportunity for the Iraqi banking system and also all users of its services; including the speed transfers and banking-related communications within Iraq.
And regarding the way to operate the (rtgs), the source pointed out that the Central Bank of Iraq established a new department for this purpose that will be a branch of the Directorate General of accounts in the bank. While the technical aspects of the system will be assigned to the computer department.
The source added that there is coordination with the general company of communications and mail in the Ministry of Communications to facilitate the communication network between the banks and Central Bank. As for funding this project, the source clarified that it is funded by the World Bank to develop a system of payments to the Iraqi Central Bank in particular, banking transactions in general...
