Iraqi trade ministry to start sell on installment project
Baghdad, Sep 4, (VOI) - Iraqi Trade Ministry is taking steps to start selling cars on installment basis to Iraqis, a trade ministry statement said on Monday.
" The trade ministry started steps to conclude deals with world leading auto companies to import high-quality cars for sell on installment ," Iraq's trade minister, Abdul-Falah al-Sodani, was quoted in the ministry statement, received by the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI), as saying.
A team from the ministry is now traveling outside Iraq to consider some of the offers made by auto manufacturers, the statement added.
"The Iraqi auto trade company is planning to urgently import cars from the best world manufacturers for sell on installment basis as it was ordered by Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's cabinet," Sodani quoted as saying.
The Iraqi cabinet ordered in late August that the trade ministry is start selling cars to Iraqi citizens on installment and long loans.
Motorists who voluntarily write off cars manufactured before 1975 can benefit from a million Iraqi dinars worth compensation and can apply through the state-owned- auto Trade Company for a new car on installment payment.

Hmmm, this would suggest that no reval is in the pipeline, but would of course love to be wrong.

Interesting,
One could think this will indicate no revalue, but in reality, it will simply be adjusted to whatever the currrent value of dinar is, so rather than a million being offered, it will be adjusted to 1000 dinar for turning in your vehicle. Internally, the only effect will be to those who have dinar savings, and that is not the case with most, so prices will all be adjusted when the time comes.
Good luck to all, Mike

I see it as a old Article. But ,what else I see is that they were detirmening on what will be the best way for re-valuation of the dinar, and what will be the way of the currency valuation and what will not. If you click on the left, where it says: More economic news in reading :
The Iraqi dinar rise in the Saudi market This is dated 2-2-05 and is very old and is displayed like it would look current. Here is the statement:
Baghdad agency :
The exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar against the Saudi riyal, in the market by 11% yesterday, Wednesday, 2 - 2-2005, a reflection of the improvement in the rate of the Iraqi currency to the American dollar after the Iraqi elections held last Sunday.
So In my opinion with this kind of News, Not being in any other Articles, anywhere ,and easy to find, since it would be, if this was a new release of news even by one repoorter. Other Reporters would have flocked this. So I would say let this one go in one ear and out the other. IMHO
