Karin, we know it has to happen just not when it will happen. They can't move forward with a measly pathetic fake rate that they have now. They have no buying power and will sell out their country for nothing if they left it as it is. Not going to happen. The US have to pay for the war somehow and that will come from the oil in the ground, the dinars held in the Treasury and the taxes that American dinar holders will pay. Their people need and deserve to be given something back. With high inflation and families struggling to make ends meet, thrown in with foreign investors queueing at the door it's just a case of when not if.

Like a winning lotto ticket but just not knowing which Saturday the draw is to take place. Even if it is November, that's only 7 weeks away.

Keep ya chin up, we're almost there.
Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

    Default float or peg

That's the bad news, the good news I fully believe they can support a r/v of around 1.39 if they go with what I said above. Now whether they go down this route or allow the markets to decide on the dinar value and open it lowish and let it float is anyones guess at this point. Either way we end up a lot wealthier which is what we're all here for. :0)
    Hello Adam,

I am more and more getting the feeling that they will choose to peg instead of float. Completely my personal opinion with ZERO to back it up other than logic. I think they will be more concerned with the stability that goes with a pegged currency.
