We are really going to have to have some degree of CONTROL on Sunday in regards to crashing the CBI site! (How funny does THAT sound coming from ME?!?!? ) But I'm SERIOUS...the whole designating of a few members to check is a REALLY GOOD idea! Tiff

I saw Mike lurking awhile ago. Wonder why he didn't respond to the good news. I'm so glad the news was confirmed by a couple of people.

Just for you cigarman here a answer from Mike today!!!
Hi Adam,
I'll drink to that, revalue or not. LOL You are right though, this has been a crazy ride with all sorts of rumors and speculation, but the most comforting thought of all is that it WILL happen, and soon, so don't worry, be happy, toast to our future financial freedom and enjoy the ride. I am still hearing the same thing, so lets start a pool and bet on who is closest to revale. LOL
Good luck to all, Mike

I have here from which I subscribed to, something many should realise and relax a little for the meanwhile....
One of our valued subscribers wrote:
"I have heard that the Minister of Finance proposed dropping three zeros from the currency! Do you have any information, or thoughts about this? Of course, if this was done prices would also lose three zeros, so the value would remain the same. But if it was done, I assume it would be necessary to exchange to the new currency within a certain grace period. Possibly it was just a comment in a speech taken out of context."
ANSWER:The New Minister of Finance did make the comment suggesting the 000's come off the Dinar; however this was just a comment. A comment that the media, writers and critics got a hold of and blew totally out of proportion. They will take anything if they can make a story about it! Anyway, the Governor of Iraq has said that the 000's are NOT coming off the Dinar. Iraq has much bigger things to worry about than changing their currency. The actual process of changing a currency is expensive and time consuming. Iraq can not afford the time or money and is focused on re-building their economy's infrastructure. However, if this was to happen in the future (which I can assure you, is highly unlikely), there would be a grace period where you would change your New Iraqi Dinar for the New-er Iraqi Dinar. The grace period for changing the old 'Saddam' pictured notes to the New Iraqi Dinar was months. I would be happy to assist anyone with the change over if it ever happened (which it wont!).
Until next time,
Jonathan Peacock

There you go...another expert and cautious advise aired...
cheers to all & to the RC CARE Group...

Unfortunately every case is so personal that its tough to generalize . . .
I've seen estimates that there may be 50,000-75,000 Americans holding an average of 4 Million NID each . . . thats more than my calculator can process . . . if everyone rushes to the bank & tries to cash it all in I guarantee the Dinar will drop . . . it's supply & demand . . .
On the other hand in IMO a lot of the outstanding NID may be held by country treasuries . . . they will probably hold / sit on / and buy Iraqi Oil & LNG down the road . . . this will be a stabilizing effect . . .
I'm and old guy [60], / with a collection of Rolls Royces and a very old friend who has been my accountant for 40 years, same with my Daughter / Attorney / financial advisor . . .
My read = It will bounce around a bit / but remember the Iraqi's are VERY interested in parity in the Arab World . . . Pride @ equal respect with their neighbors . . . I will cash in a few million over a few months [based on my tax liabilities] . . . and then see what the situation looks like . . .
Definitely get advise . . . Use family / friend contacts, but get tax & investment advise . . .
Hope this has helped . . .Φ Iligitimi Non Carborundum Φ....

Wondering...
With my apologies RollsRoyce if you've posted the answer to this question previously. Indira's family.. sound like quite prominent men in Kurdistan. Would you mind expounding on their positions, etc? You mentioned in a previous post that they were in Bagdad yesterday conferring with Sadam's prosecutors. I dare say they were having a more intense day than I was..
And the fact that they are in on the negotiations of the reval is quite amazing.
Just curious as to their positions in all of this. If you cannot or do not wish to reveal more, it's certainly understandable..
Thanks in advance...
Randy

On FoxNews
1:00 pm central time: FoxNews is scrolling the news that Iraq is digging a trench around the city of Baghdad and setting up check points on all roads leading from the city.
Didn't say why, but it sounds like that don't want any truck loads of stolen dinar leaving the city. jmo

The President said they were establising a burm around Baghdad so that they can control the flow of guns and bombs into the city. I think its just a perimeter to reduce the number of entry points for greater security. In the same breath he stated that the troop levels have increased to around 147,000.
