    LOL, nice one Des. :0)

I know this was posted elsewhere but it's very interesting as Mike would say....the guy on IIF has updated to say his own bank said the problem was with Warka and not his own bank. Now IF they were going to do a r/v tied to the Euro as has been suggested then it's quite conceivable that any transfers regarding dollars would not be accepted as per the message below....

Could be something, could be nothing.

Iraq puts stop order on all USD wire transfers
    Hi all,

I tried to transfer USD 500 to my Warka account today.

My bank told me they couldn't complete the transfer becuase Iraq has put a stop order on USD wire transfers as of this week!

Although strangely they did say I could try eruos.

Has anyone else had this problem in the past?

Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

Thats interesting . . .how hard would it be to electronically change the USD to EUR enroute? Does there have to be a physical transfer at all? I seems peculiar that Warka would turn down any $$$ any time.

Will have to watch how this one unfolds.

Good to see posts from Adster. I've been gone myself, moving house. Anyway, your post on a third term for Bush just makes the blood run cold. Aside from that it's kind of hard to stay positive when the reports coming out of Iraq are just literally soaked with blood. I know we've been all around the media only reporting the bad news, but the violence seems to be reaching even higher pitch than ever, and not just in Baghdad. Any input from anyone on the conditions there? An interesting note, I heard a report yesterday that the regular citizens in the violence prone areas are fleeing, north to Kurdistan. blessings.

Good to hear from you too kristin. Nightmare job moving!

Well Bush will want to be remembered as the President who turned Iraq around. A r/v, better conditions, economic success, foreign investors and settled people would go a long way to proving that.
