You could come here and make logical arguments as to why there could be no reval, however you choose to make absurd statements. How would a revaluation cause a rise in prices? wouldn't it make a little more sense to adjust prices accordingly? But on to the larger topic, something has to occur in regards to the value of the currency in order to fight inflation. They have attempted to get a hold on it by manipulating interest rates which was a short lived fix. Now, whether they choose to reval or float the currency, SOMEHING HAS TO BE DONE.

What amazes me is how someone who thinks he knows so much, has nothing of his own to share, Member 99 everything you say is in bits and pieces from other forums, you share nothing we haven't heard already, If you have nothing positive to add to this forum, why the hell are you here, no one cares to here negativity from you, we get that everyday in the real world. Those of us that have made this investment are aware of the downside of it, but we CHOOSE to believe the upside, why, because it's fun, and because everyday we get more good info on what’s going on, You must be a sad, depressed person if all you can do is rain on someones parade, I don't care what you think you know about Economics, if this was an investment that can never ever happen and it was a dead issue, then why don't reputable people and newspapers just come out and say it, instead they don't, they all just say that it's a risky investment, like many other investments, but the difference I think is for a small amount of money anyone can invest in the dinar and risk little to nothing and probably will make an excellent return, another thing if it never revalued, we still cant loose money, we can just exchange it or sell it on ebay, tell me MR. Economics, what investment that you know of can guarantee you that you will break even or come out on top, I don't know any stock that can do that, so please just go away because negativity is something we all can live without.

Economics
Member99, since you stated you have a PhD this is something you ought to be able to comprehend. It's called incentive:
If its (the reval) not done by Sept 30, the end of the fiscal year, Iraq will lose $14.7 Bil of US funding.
So what type of economic formula can you run for that?

IIF is so stuck up these days. Soon, they will start a board for each member so they can post and respond to their own posts as that would mean less moderation. What a ludicrous strategy. They have so many different connotations that you would be hard-pressed to have a decent debate without offending the powers that be. No more posting for me there. Been reprimanded twice for posting. Reason? Do not respond to rumours? Huh?! Yes, quite...I run a very large forum myself and have never come across such paranoia and nit-picking.
