Iraqi Central bank sells $38 million in daily auction
Baghdad, Sep 28, (VOI) – Dollar demand was slightly higher in the Iraqi central bank daily auction on Thursday, scoring $38.680 million compared to $38.640 million on Wednesday.
Of the total, $24.310 million was sold in cash and $14.370 million in foreign transfers, the daily statement of the bank said.
Eleven banks bid for dollars in Thursday’s auction but made no selling offers.
The dollar rate was stable at 1,473 dinars for the fourth day running.

Just keep in mind this is Iraq...Iraq does not follow our rules of press etiquette. It would not surprise me in the least. This is a big deal to us and a huge step for them but remember they have had so many huge steps that this is probably just another step forward to them...Not to mention....by recording it yesterday alleviates any threat of assassination attempt....at the time of broadcast. Just some thoughts...I think we are all in unchartered territory here so at this point nothing would surprise me. But everything points to a reval announcement...sorry..just couldn't contain myself....

This article is very interesting because it is dated today 9/28 and at the end of the article it talks about 10 million dinar to be donated to youth program arenas etc., now maybe I am reading too much into this but yesterday 10 million dinar was not a lot for a government sponsored program.....but today (assuming the reval is done) 10 million dinar would probably be about right for a government funded program...just a guess as I was trying to read between the lines...any thoughts????

Baghdad Governorate Council voted to develop hand freedom
Council held a meeting under the chairmanship of the Baghdad governorate certain Sadir during which the vote on the introduction of hand freedom they contain a large number of the population and need for services.
A statement issued by the Council that the area of freedom belonging to the city of Karbala, The Council will address maintaining the cabinet for approval.
The statement added that the Council was to be the Nahrawan hand of an independent cities in the vast area and large population, in addition to the formation of a committee to maintain discipline particularly's accounting negligence of the members of municipal councils.
He pointed out that the allocated sum of 10 million dinars to the Committee of Sports and Youth teams for the purpose of supporting youth and rehabilitation arenas.
