The silence makes perfect sense to me. Invite the media about something URGENT . . .then force them into silence . . .kinda like the two sat news channels they shut down for a month . . .well . .that months is just about up.

What if they threatened the media with the same stick. "If you leak this, we'll ban you too" . . .as they wait to announce . . .maybe they are waiting for the traditional weekend when their is not trading and banks are closed.

Thats what I would do . . .give them time to revaluate everything in the country

    D. Salah al-Din Hamid *
    * An economic expert
Coexists public and private sectors in the economies of all nations, But it is different role and the size of each in the economic activity from one State to another, depending upon the nature of the economic system approach and the level of development of these countries.
It was the public sector in developing countries including Iraq of great importance in terms of its size and its control of the joints, the economy, It is no secret to observers of modern economic development, the developing countries after gaining independence have resorted to political control of the most important economic sectors, for reasons political, economic and social conditions imposed in a timely manner, to achieve social justice in the provision of basic goods and services affordable for citizens and the ability of the government to allocate a large proportion of resources to defend, and contribute to the growth and improvement of living standards through the implementation of infrastructure projects and to maintain a reasonable level of operation and provide employment opportunities and to channel resources towards investment activities that serve major public interests and positive impact on exports.
With the passage of time seemed in doubt about the efficiency and effectiveness of the public sector in economic activity, as experience has shown that public institutions drain government resources in the budget are direct transfers or loans to ensure the continuity of existence and most of that is borrowing from abroad due to the following reasons :
Inadequate pricing policies in the pricing of the products of the public sector; as is often the price levels without real production costs so as to encourage the consumption and raise the cost of support for those goods and services
Iraq has defaulted on this approach, especially after 2003 as the economic policy of the new Iraq is the adoption of a market economy has stressed the Iraqi Constitution, article 25 of which encourage the private sector and development. There are several laws and procedures are in this direction remind them to promote the privatization of enterprises belonging to the public sector through a lease or sale, The reduction of tax rates on companies, and the suspension of customs duties, and the enactment of the foreign investment, , and the establishment of a securities and seek to develop the securities market, and allow the opening of branches and offices for foreign banks in Iraq. and work to supplement those remittances Treasury auction of foreign currency for the development of the financial market, and to strengthen the relationship with the International Monetary Fund and the signing of agreements with the economic reform, The steps start accession to the WTO and the signing of the Paris Club agreement for the settlement of the foreign debt of Iraq.
After these procedures, citizens ask ... Where is the role of the public sector in the Iraqi economy? And how effective, Does the private sector in Iraq was able to play a complementary role to fill the vacuum which will be the public sector?.
To explore the role of the public sector in the past three years does not require a further effort to determine the level of activity and productivity. It became every citizen senses vulnerability in the performance, electrical energy in the worst situations and fuel lifeline different types of burdening citizens, The local agricultural production and industry lacked scarce funding and stifle foreign competition not to mention the telephone services, banking and other services.
The local private sector has declined substantially in the light of the deterioration of the infrastructure assistance and the loss of security and openness to global markets, The loss of the spirit of initiative and perhaps left Iraq to look for investment opportunities outside Iraq. it is not surprising that we do not see foreign investment comes to Iraq under these circumstances.
True that the Iraqi economy is in transition from a centralized economy to a market economy and often accompany this stage difficulties, but they could not predict the length of this stage, particularly heavy burden on the citizen in the light of the lack of clarity and effectiveness of the role of both the public and private sectors. The circumstances through which Iraq is required by the public sector played an active role and lead the process of reconstruction and development through the provision of infrastructure and services needed and then can the private sector to have a say.

    Wink This sounds good

Found this in the Iraq Directory this morning.

Director of the Exchange Market: the people are in need of a direct edification in Stocks Investment

Director of Iraqi Exchange Market: Iraqis are in need of a direct edification in stocks investment
    26/09/2006
    Source: Al-Sharq Al-Awsat

Commissioned Director of Iraqi exchange market, Taha Ahmad AbdulSalam, confirmed that Iraqi public has lately participated in the prosperity of the circulated stocks’ prices in the market in spite of the fact that most participants entered it without having the slightest experience.

Taha said that there are several reasons for not circulating some companies’ stocks which are involved in selling and buying processes some of the companies are busy with their general boards’ meetings while others are prevented from circulating.

The last reason is the investor himself; most capital owners think that the best way of investing is to buy stocks and keep them. That is, they do not speculate them because either they are afraid to do so or they have no knowledge and experience in this kind of investment. That is why a large rate of some companies’ stocks is not circulated in the market. Taha confirmed that Iraqi exchange market planned, since its foundation, to educate the investor and whoever wants to enter the market through issuing regular publications about the market and the mechanisms of speculation. There is also the internet service which gives its visitor the access to inquire about almost anything. In addition, to thorough lessons about stocks and the exchange market.
Taha stated that electronic circulation, starting soon, will increase the range of circulation to include the rest of the provinces through agents who will be assigned to manage the speculation process in each province.

About the late revival of the circulated stocks’ prices, he explained that the rate of the increase in prices reached (5.2%) and it is a good one. What is more important is that the market maintained this raise. Taha anticipated that as soon as the electronic circulation begins, it will increase this rate even more and this will certainly revive the Iraqi stocks’ market. There is also the successful works of the participant companies which will eventually be reflected on the circulation prices of their stocks in the market.

Baghdad, Sep 29 (Xinhua) After three years of the US-led invasion, terrorism is not the Iraqis' only problem. Rising prices is a major headache.

Um Muhammed, a mother of four here, says she buys only vegetables for her family because she can't afford the meat.

"Even the prices of vegetables are quite high. I sometimes buy onion or potatoes but nothing in the market is less than 1,000 Iraqi Dinars ($0.7) a kilo, three or four times more than the prices six months ago," the 45-year-old complained as she headed home from a market with three small bags.

Like Um Muhammed, many Iraqis find that besides the upsurge in violence, they have a new foe: inflation spiralling out of control.

Fuel and electricity prices are up more than 270 percent from last year's, according to Iraqi government statistics. Tea prices in some markets have quadrupled, while egg prices have doubled.

"The price of nearly everything in my shop has increased dramatically during the past several months. Beef now runs as high as 9,000 IDs ($6.2) a kilo, up from 5,000 IDs ($3.4) last year," said Allaa Hamid, a shop owner in western Baghdad.

The price spiral has come as a shock to many Iraqis, who make about 150 dollars to 200 dollars per month on average even if they have jobs.

Estimates of unemployment range from 40 to 60 percent. Many Iraqi families have no other choice but to struggle to make ends meet.

"We are buying according to priorities, I mean we buy the minimum of the most needed things," Um Muhammed said with a sigh.

"Markets are filled with fresh fruit, vegetables and meat but they are very expensive. We even can't afford to buy the most basic items," said Mustafa Kamil, 56, a former government employee who drives a taxi here to make a living.

"I used to entirely depend on the ration card which distributed by the government, but now we can't get it regularly and several items were omitted from the ration cards," he said.

Though more than three years after the collapse of Saddam regime, the Iraqis still face a severe shortage of electricity.

The government provides electricity only for four to six hours each day, nearly every family turns to substantial power sources, which cost an average of 35 dollars per month.

"I pay about 40 dollars per month to buy electricity from private generators to gain additional 10-hour electricity supply. The rest of the day I use my small generator," said Adnan al-Sarraf, 43, a government employee.

"This cost most of my salary because I also have to buy fuel for my generator," he said, adding the current fuel price was beyond his imagination.

The war-torn country is sporadically facing a ridiculous oil crisis. Gasoline in state-run gas stations is sold at 350 IDs ($0.24) a liter, but in short supply. Many people have to purchase gasoline in black markets.

Though wild inflation has become the unbearable heavy for Iraqis, some still do not think it is their major problem.

"You see inflation could destroy our life but it can not kill us, so the daily killings and blasts are till our arch foe," remarked Raad Manie, 49, an engineer.

"During the sanctions on Iraq before 2003, we were eager to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Now we are looking for tunnels to hide from blasts and death squads," Manie added.

Talking about having to do something right away, how do these people survive in these conditions.
This is yet another argument for a quick RV of the Dinar. The rising prices in Iraq are directly attributable to supply issues. Two main issues need to be addressed in order to fight the problem:

    1)Security
    2)Import power

The answer to number one is a complicated one and needs a thorough treatment, so I'll leave it be for now.

The answer to the second issue comes by strengthening Iraqs purchasing power. Over time, this is solved by getting the oil flowing and geting people into jobs. Problem with this is that importing the things needed to get the oil flowing are relatively expensive to Iraq right now. The government will almost certainly have to resort to loans in order to help out with the situation. This is a good long term solution.......... but:

Iraq needs a short term solution. Something for the here and now.

A modest RV would bring an instant rise in purchasing power to the Iraqi government. Some have argued that the average Iraqi citizen will not feel the effect of such an action.

This would be an incorrect assessment as the government would have greater purchasing power. More imports = lower prices, easier access to necessities, etc. Add in the fact that oil is the dominant market and that everything else is marginalized relative to this, you get a country that is HEAVILY import dependent.

The high prices are a direct result of a lack of imports and security issues.

Remember, low supply = higher prices.

    Higer prices uncontrolled = inflation.

Remember that word, it's Iraqs nemesis right now..........

    I copied this from PAn8tv's post #528.

deep-seated bureaucracy that delays supply and stifles chances for progress.

Looking for a specific way to pray? This above statement is a key. It is not enough to pray for a high r/v. We also have to come against the hold up to progress. Start here and then go where the Spirit leads. Remember, our fight is not against people but the enemy working through people. People do not deliberately allow this. They are deceived. These people need revelation.

This is how I pray: I come against every plan of the enemy that tries to stop progress in Iraq. I curse these plans and command that they be brought to nought in the name of Jesus. I pray that God expose these plans and reveal them to those in authority, and that He would open their eyes and give them His Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation concerning His will for their country. I proclaim that those in authority will hear His voice and obey.

This prayer is a starting point. Allow the Holy Spirit to lead you deeper and trust that you are hearing Him. Your Spirit lead prayers will make a difference; they make much power available to cause change.

It is much bigger than a reval of the dinar. Let's make sure that we are not so focused on what we want and forget about the Iraqi people. Yes, I agree that a reval will help them. Motive is what I am talking about. When you help enough people get what they want you will get what you want. Prayer is the most effective way to help, in my humble but accurate opinion.

    Default Calm before the storm....?

I went to check on Safedinar again, and they haven't restored their news ticker yet. This is strange to me because it's always been there and it's usually very current with news about themselves and breaking news.

BTW- still no 5K or 1K notes available as well...

Can't help but having this feeling we are now experiencing the calm before the storm....

We'll just have to wait and see, and we have all proven we can certainly handle the waiting part!
Do unto others....you know the rest...

Here I am getting my Dinar News Fix waiting for that "Bold Adjustment"

MNF-I officials reiterate support for Iraqi Government

BAGHDAD - Recent news articles cite unnamed senior military officials as being critical of Iraq’s Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and his government. These un-attributed comments do not reflect the close partnership between the Government of Iraq (GoI) and Multi-National Force - Iraq. We fully support the courageous and decisive efforts of the Prime Minister and the GoI.

Prime Minister al-Maliki’s government is Iraq’s first democratically-elected government chosen by an overwhelming majority of voters and has made impressive progress in a very short time. As Gen. George W. Casey Jr., Commanding General, Multi-National Force – Iraq, said in an interview last week, “What I’ve seen in the four months he has been the Prime Minister here [is that] he is very capable and he’s doing a good job in a tough environment. He is a determined, courageous leader taking on some very difficult issues [Baghdad Security, reconciliation, militias and federalism]. He has an awful lot of challenges facing him, and I do believe he is very much up to the task.”

Iraqis are taking control of their streets and their future and will soon serve as a model for democracy and freedom in the Middle East.

God bless the people of Iraq.
