President Jalal Talabani and Vice President Adel Abdul-Mahdi sign the electoral law, passed by the House of Representatives recently
The Office of the Vice-President Adel Abdul-Mahdi, he and President of the Republic His Excellency President Jalal Talabani had signed the election law passed by the House of Representatives on November 23, 2009 .. And that efforts are under way to complete the approval of the Presidency of the Republic of the bill from the common concern for the elections as scheduled, which are universally viewed as a cornerstone of the constitutional political structure of the Iraqi regime. As in the previous time, has said Vice President of the Republic that the logic that governs the signing of the law received from the House of Representatives is the observance of these laws for three things were essential.
The first is not in conflict with any of these laws substance or understanding of constitutional ..
The second is that it will bring justice and national consensus-General ..
The third is that the veto does not lead to disruption or delay and confuse the political process ..
The Vice President asserts that the former law, or the current law is not free of observations and gaps, but he believes that the treatment must be made through amendments that could be carried out by the House of Representatives later, or by operational procedures of the Electoral Commission .. Which will enable us to remove all of public concern, or any loophole in the law ..
On the one hand, and allows the other hand, not to disrupt the election process, which, as we are the foundation and essence of the political system should not be intertwined with the things that - no matter how great - is always less important than matters of substance.
This confirms the Vice President of the Republic that he would work with the President of the Republic, His Excellency the Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi, a professor for further efforts to overcome all obstacles and difficulties and remain at the level of responsibilities entrusted by the Council Presidency and stay above the political sensitivities and different interactions.
Office of the Vice President of the Republic of Iraq
Mr. Adel Abdul-Mahdi

Hi Friends!
Now, if I understand this correctly...looking at Seaview's post #674, it seems to say that VP Hashimi (or what's his name) claims he didn't receive the EL back from Parliament...
and post #676 seems to say that Pres. Talibani (or what's his name #2)...Has SIGNED APPROVAL of the Election Law?!?!
Looks like they pulled the old "end run around" play, bypassing the VeeP so he couldn't pull his shenanigans this time!
If the EL truly is signed/approved and will go into the books soon, this will be absolutely huge for us dinar holders- in my humble opinion! Again, I hope I am interpreting the news correctly- and if I am, I'll be looking for the RV to occur by Monday or soon after (oops, that's my prediction and belongs in the Rumor section...sorry).
HOORAY FOR THE IRAQI'S!!!
Maybe I was a little too harsh on 'em in my post in the Rumor section.
Well done, blokes!
Blessings On YOU! AL
