Gates: US unlikely to change Iraq pullout plan

The United States might slowdown the pace of US Forces withdrawal from Iraq only if the situation in Iraq deteriorates terribly.

Gates stressed however that it’s not the case presently.

Basra hosts conference to activate local investment

The Chief of Ivestment Board in Basra said on Tuesday that the board was trying to activate local investment in the field of mineral resources in Basra, while the Chief of Geological Survey stressed the necessity of attracting the private sector to exploit the mineral wealth, in order to activate the economy in the country.

He noted that "quantities of oil exported by Iraq at this time of $ 800 -900 million barrels a day."
