Kurdish Alliance rejects the budget as presented by the government
Kurdistan Alliance members expressed their rejection of the general budget for 2011 in its current form.

Etisalat is seeking to make a deal with Kuwait's Zain

Kurdistan region to limit Baghdad oil exports to the region by 100000 bpd
A Leader in the Kurdistani Alliance said on Sunday that Kurdistan region government is determined to ask for limiting Baghdad oil exports to the region by 100000 barrels per day and pointed that this step comes after the central government limited Kurdistan region exports share to 150000 barrels per day.

Kurdish lawmaker: Federal Government is required to seriously consider objections to the Kurdistan Alliance, the general budget
A member of the House of Representatives of the Alliance of Kurdistan forces Burhan Mohammed Faraj Our objections to many of the paragraphs of the general budget for the current legal and the federal government to deal seriously with these objections and accelerate change the objectionable paragraphs.
He said Faraj told the independent press (Iba) The objections of the Kurdish forces are concentrated on the issue of export of oil and the powers of the Minister of Finance and others have been re-balance to the government for amendment. Pointing to the existence of regional prime minister, Barham Saleh, in Baghdad to discuss this matter with the federal government.
Faraj explained that our observations on the budget and to demand the amendment of some paragraphs to be stricken by the benefit only to the Kurds, but for all the Iraqi people and especially Maitalq oil wealth and distribute revenues.
According to Articles 108 and 109 First of the Constitution that the oil and gas belongs to the Iraqi people in all the regions and governorates. With the federal government will administer oil and gas extracted from current fields in cooperation with the governments of producing regions and provinces, to be distributed and imports fairly commensurate with the demographic distribution all over the country , with the share of fixed-term of the affected regions, that were deprived in an unfair way by the former regime, which had been damaged after a way that ensures balanced development in different parts of the country.

Jordan: This year will see the rail link project between Iraq and Jordan
Detection Secretary-General of the Jordanian Ministry of Transport Muhannad judges completion of feasibility studies, financial and preliminary designs for the project to link Jordan to Iraq by railway, and is expected to start in the implementation of the project this year.
Judges pointed out that the importance of land connection by rail between Iraq and Jordan will increase the volume of trade exchange between the two countries, and will minimize the delay in the entry of trucks and goods to and from the two countries.
The judges added that "the Jordanian Ministry of Transport will be bidding the project during the next two months to direct its implementation later this year, and the term which is supposed to take to implement the project is three years."

Kuwaiti Minister of Finance and Industry emphasize the strengthening of cooperative relations between the Arab countries

Current year to witness activating anti-poverty strategy in Iraq
The current year is expected to witness the activation of the anti-poverty strategy by the Iraqi authorities, aimed at decreasing the percentage of poverty in the country from 23% to 16% by the year 2014, according to the Planning Ministry's Central Statistics Body on Tuesday.
"The strategy to decrease poverty will be activated this year," the Central Statistics Body's official spokesman told Aswat al-Iraq news agency, pointing out to "the scientific steps for the anti-poverty strategy for the current five-year plan - 2010-2014, along with connecting it with the General Budgets for 2010 and 2011, taking into consideration that the said strategy had been launched since the beginning of 2010."
He said that "the plans and programs for this strategy shall be implemented according to their time schedules, laid down for the forthcoming years ending by 2014," adding that "each of those years shall have a certain percentage for the accomplishment of the plan, in order to decrease the percentage of poverty in Iraq from 23% to 16% by the year 2014."
The High Committee for the Strategy to Decrease Poverty in Iraq, according to the Joint Cooperation Agreement concluded between Iraq's Planning Ministry and the World Bank in 2007, had comprised female members of the Iraqi Parliament, representatives of the ministries, universities and north Iraq's Kukrdistan Regional government, in order to prepare a platform of statistical statements, related to the social and economic conditions of the family in Iraq.

2010 Inflation rate drops
Central apparatus for census and information technology affiliated to the ministry of planning said on Sunday that the yearly rate of inflation dropped last year in comparison with the previous years and added that the apparatus will use manual equipments in order to measure inflation rate in Iraq.
