Before you can even think of that, you have to have a self sustaining economy, which Iraq does not, pull the USDs there and pull out the US troops and you have a civil war, not too conducive to outsiders having faith in your currency. CUrrency valuations are MARKET decisions with the exception of places where the currency is not traded and held artificially high by the government in question. Keeping a currency artificially low is an economic impossibility, the IRD is being held UP right now, and any move to let it perform in the market will result in a collapse. Aside from hucksters pushing dinars on unsophiticated suckers (people like you) no one is selling dinars. Think about it a minute, if it was going to revalue, certainly every central bank in the world would know, and of coourse, every bank bigger than a local credit union would also know, and they'd be all over it. It is a FACT of capitolism that arbitrage positions do not last once the position has been recognized. Quit listening to Sunshine Susie and start looking at how much the Bank of England and CitiBank et al start aquiring Dinars for trading acccounts. When professional investment houses are stocking up on it, it's about to revalue. Don't worry about missing it, the things that need to happen fisrt are going to take 5-10 years to happen, enough time perhaps to get a doctorate in Economics, as I did in my "research"

Actually I do quite a lot of research myself. I do not just base my opinions on the boards.

Wow a doctorate in Economics.... well done! I have been thinking about going back to school, but I am not sure if at my age I really want to do that.

Chase Bank here in the States is selling Iraqi Dinars now so I do feel that opens a new window.

As I have said in my posts, my feelings and predictions are totally based on favorable news articles, one phone conversation, and my Gut feelings. I do hope that I am right, but if not, it will happen one day.

While we're all speculating on where and when etc, and with the pressure building again as the days prior tick by, I was just thinking that the revalue may in fact happen during Ramadan.

I saw Adster confirm earlier that the Government are still active during this period, so why not?

I know there are many that would disagree, and I'm not saying they're wrong, but maybe Ramadan will see a significant reduction in sectarian violence, and what better time to announce a revaluation to reunite the country.

Furthermore, with most things being closed this would allow a smoother transition from a financial perspective.

I just noticed that the Ticker has stopped quoting the Dinar.

The violence came as the government was preparing to announce new security measures for Baghdad ahead of Ramadan, which is expected to start on Sept. 24.

Mohammed al-Askari, a Defense Ministry spokesman, told the AP the measures would be adopted two or three days before the holy month begins to "protect citizens from terrorists attacks during this month."

Security measures could include a series of trenches and berms the government has said it plans to help secure Baghdad. As part of the plan, vehicle and pedestrian traffic would be restricted to just 28 entry points with manned checkpoints. The berms and trenches would funnel vehicle traffic to those 28 checkpoints.

I also was told by another friend of mine( whom i can't seem to get to purchase any of the dinar)That while she was at the store across from where we work she over heard the pepsi guy talking about it.I KNOW THAT IN SOME EARLIER POST IT HAS BEEN SAID TO INVESR IN PEPSI IN IRAQ,COULD BE SOMETHING TO THIS GUYS.!!!!!
