Insurgents do pay Iraqi's to drive the VBIEDs and as poor as they are they don't hesitate to give up their lives to help their families. It would also be impossible to validate an offer from the insurgency.

My suggestion was that the Iraqi government offer payment for known reported terrorists. If the terrorists can pay for death, why cannot the government pay for life. Our prayers are with that country for their peace.

Maybe once the dinars r/v the people will no longer need to blow themselves up to help their families, but instead will turn on all the terrorists and run them out.this is just my thought on it. Barbara

Good point, and I have always said it would have been cheaper and safer to just pay terrorists not to blow themselves up. Money should be used as rewards, not just for the Saddam era killers, but for anyone known to have planted bombs or attacked Iraq or coalition forces. Also offer a reward for handing in weapons, guns bombs etc., then we would see some action and a reduction in the violence. If the poor are being targeted to blow themselves up for a $100. for their families, then pay them $100. to turn in the person who paid them to be terrorists, simple.

Your suggestion of handing in weapons, etc for a cash reward is excellent and would probably instantly lower the death rate.
Unfortunately the problem with turning in the insurgent, is it would be a death sentence for the informer.

It is an excellent suggestion but I would be concerned that the informer would be targeted by the insurgent.
It truly saddens me that these people are in the position that they are willing to die to help their families.

How great that would be...such a simple solution to a major problem. Makes you wonder why it hasn't been done.

If anyone has any lingering doubts about the negativity at IIF, look what they did to Charmed Piper in the rumor section today when she tried to post positve info complete with a link in the rumor section. She was bashed and trashed and then the Negative-in Chief (Sportslux) implied that she should leave the forum!

That's why I don't go over there anymore. I prefer to stick with the happy thinkers over here.

Not really what happened but everyone is free to go and see for themselves! No one bashed Charmed Piper until CP did a little bashing first! And Sportslux just pointed out the fact that she said many times before that she would not post there any more.
