We have not posed that question / nor have they mentioned it . . . but your suggestion is sound & I will try to find out their opinions . . .

I believe that Iraq is setting a standard for their country with this request of Modeled Year Automobile's. As you know you have seen for years on I35, a Junker Pulling or Towing another Junker to Mexico. I know this might not seem like much to others but to me, Iraq is setting "Standards" for the Countries Future.

Look at Mexico with all these Junkers going there constantly. Sure it is good for the Junk dealer at some point but, It also says alot for your Country IMHO.

Can you amagin a country with only 2005 and up Modeled Automobils. I believe the arverage Modern Auto here in the US will run $35,000.00 Low end. This goes to show me what this "Oil Country" is capable of having. Must also remember they have some of the Most Beautiful Castle's or Palaces eyes have ever seen. Paid for by "Oil".
Let's see 1 car = usd $35,000 times 1470 = 51,520,000 dinars. Let's see if you average the population of Iraq (26,0000,000) divided by 1 car per every 4 people (mom, pop, and 2 kids)= 6,500,000 people times 51,520,000 dinars = more than my calculator can compute!!! That added to everyone who owns land can apply for a 20,000,000 dinar loan times how many people qualifies for this? 1 million maybe? They will either have to r/v substantially or go back to the printing presses and print a lot more dinar!!! Let's believe positive that every Iraqi family gets their own house and at least 1 car!!! That should raise the value of the dinar don't ya think?????

    worf
Are we there yet? I'm getting really tired of waiting and I am getting wet from all of the dribbling. Come on you know it is the right thing to do for your country. R/V the thing in 1 large dramtic move to over 1 usd at least (1 sdr will be fine for a start) will ya?

Thanks RR for your input in the forum. It's always great to have the input from the people who live in Iraq. They are the ones who will make or break this country and our investment.

They will as soon as it is time. Waste of money to just keep printing Money, and costly too. Not the reason but, it is going to r/v. When the FIL is implemented and what ever else they need to do, then it will r/v.....High to us, is my thought, to at least Jordon. Be Patient. RR are you East of the Mississippi or in Iraq - your coments on the rate of pay for teachers implies that you are in or from the ME and not EM

    Please clarify!

Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

Neno, FYI - I remember reading about this a year ago when they first implemented this law. I am glad they are extending it. I do believe it was mainly due to the IED issue with terrorists blowing up cars. It was the old beaters that were being used as bombs. I guess the GoI thought that they needed to stop letting the beater trojan horses into the country. Kind of makes sense.

I wouldn't want to blow up a new car if I were an insurgent. I would blow up a junker.
