Last auction, weekend in Iraq, weekend at our place, no banks participating could be complete dry up after seen auction of yesterday.

Maybe they surprise us pleasantly today or this weekend!

Here is a theory....but it still seems like the long way around....anyway.....they have partially updated the site obviously not complete.....would they make a formal announcement then go back and key in the numbers simultaneously with an announcement.....this is all new territory for them I assume.....

They could go in anytime and change those numbers....they would not have to specifically wait for another auction especially since it looks like they didn't finish what they were doing????? your thoughts???

its almost 2pm over there now. i suspect if they do anything close to what you are suggesting they will wait until the bank is closed before they say anything to the people and you wont see the change until the auction sunday. it will post on the cbi before it posts on the forex im pretty sure.

Have always been of the opinion a reval would happen AFTER the last auction of the week. Makes sense to adjust everything in country for their weekend and then start of the new working week.

Not overly convinced it will go straight onto the Forex just yet. We need to check the real official route, ie the CBI.

Looks to me like they've reached a point where the banks have enough dollars, (thanks to yesterdays auctions) and hence the lack of banks involved yesterday and at this point there is no more need for a daily auction..........

What does this mean? Well, I'd heard a reval before the 15th if not before. Maybe just maybe........

Let's keep an eye out on the rate and of course any press conferences. A total package of fil, oil law and reval is what I feel may well happen. We know the fil has been done and dusted, (should have been put into action around 10 November) but it's being held back by the GOI.

or they could post/announce it in the "NEWS" section. It is now coming up to 6am NY time, which is 2pm (or is it 1PM) Baghdad time. Maybe they are waiting till the end of their banking week to make the anouncement. Do they close at 3pm, 4pm, 5pm?

Who knows what they are doing...I guess I'll get some zzz's
