.... called the main Chase Chicago branch just now and they still do not do anything with the iraqi dinar.

wonder why certain states/branches do and don't deal with this currency.

Have the teller pull up their foreign currency listing. I think it's listed differenly and if they don't look in the right section they won't find it

She says she is the head person in charge in the currency department at the main chicago branch.

Is everyone just going into any Chase branch and ordering for next day pick up?

Texas and Arizona I believe are the 2 states in which I heard of being able to order, any others?

Okay, just got back from Chase bank, and here is my story (cue soft jazz music):

Walked in there, did exactly as Vipor recommended... Told them I want to purchase foreign currency. They go through their menu, and start that up, ask me what I want to purchase. "Iraqi Dinar, please".... *slightly confused looks*... They go through their menu, find Iraqi Dinar, and ask me how much. "100,000, please". Punch it in.... *puzzled looks*. I get handed off to a more knowledgable teller, who turns to the phone. After about ten minutes, it is verified that they do sell Dinar, and start through the process.

All in all, it cost me $76.76 + a pair of sunglasses. I'll get a call when the order arrives, and I'll go and pick it up. Yes, I lost my sunglasses, but given that I was already there for much longer than I anticipated, I didn't have time to form a search party to look for them.

Moral of *my* story: Prepare yourself for a bit of a wait while they figure out their procedures. They do sell it, but it could take a bit of time while they learn that. As with most other branches, it seems these folks have never had to sell Dinar before, and so they were learning as they go. On the upside, it is nice to have three out of the five tellers helping you to buy what you're after. And, of course, I was asked to never be difficult again, as I was leaving.
Four years ago... no, it was yesterday. Today I... No, that wasn't me. Sometimes I... No, I don't.

    Mike,
I am in Michigan, in a very small town, and can order. When I have called they told me "no", but when I have gone in, and had them look it up, I have been able to place 3 orders in total so far. The exchange rate is .0007676 I picked up my latest order yesterday.
