I don't believe that cats aren't loyal. They have limited physical strength, but then, so do small dogs. But, take for example, the case of the cat that came to the rescue of the toddler who was attacked by a dog:
For an animal to be loyal, it needs to form a bond and feel protective. The above example is one of protectiveness. Do cats form bonds? I can say with absolute certainty they do, having been a cat owner.
