Hov Pod Hovercraft were first introduced in 2002.

Our design approach is different - our design team were given clear design objectives, to design a hovercraft that would be safe for family use, easy to use, yet strong and durable for commercial patrol and rescue users. They were instructed to do away with all unnecessary levers, buttons, and
pulleys, to make the craft easy to use, and optimized for safe performance.

On top of this, we wanted a hovercraft that looked good.

In 2008 we introduced the latest generation SPX version, unique in hovercraft design, manufactured using a new process from High Density Polyethylene. HDPE is very strong, extremely buoyant yet lightweight.

Hov Pods are manufactured in Southampton UK, just one mile from where hovercraft inventor Sir Christopher Cockerell first tested his prototype craft in 1957. We now export over 85% of our hovercraft and probably outsell every other hovercraft manufacturer through a growing network of dealers.

This is the same craft as used by the United Nations, sold by Harrods of London and used by the makers of the Thunderbirds film, and as seen on many TV shows. Have a look around the site to find out more. Click on the images or video links to see and hear more
