Not making any assumptions, but I think all a mod or admin would need to do is access the admin cp of vbulletin, click into Users, Search for BM, and enter in a new password, which would change the one that BM did have. Then login as BM and make a post. Of course IPs would be different, but who knows them other than the mods/admin.
An member with the title of Admin I know can do this, a Moderator may be limited from viewing the details for each user.
Now I'm assuming people are wondering why someone would do this? Easy, traffic to ROLClub may have been dieing, which simply makes people wishing to advertise lose interest, so revenue to the site would decrease, and a post of such would drive old traffic and new traffic back to the site because of hope that PIPS would return.

Interesting,
Sounds like assumptions to me. (g) Mods cannot access this information, and unless you are checking as it is being posted, the same is true for Admin as I recall from running same vB system. Of course, as we all know, hackers can do amazing things, and in my assessement, it appears someone is seeking a list of the most gullable people possible, and they hit the jack pot here. Scammers are known to phish for suckers, so I would not be surprised if those who posted love, faith, hope, etc. will be bombarded with spam on other scams in the near future. Hackers are amazing as to what they can learn from forums like this. I knew someone on TalkGold who was able to get into a persons computer and print out all their activity at a moments notice, and proved it, so talk about scary, this sure got my attention. LOL
Good luck to all, Mike

Well, it may sound like assumptions to some, but the theory goes hand in hand w/ why it would be done, and I believe other members will see my point on that note.
Less Traffic = Less Site Revenue, so More Traffic obviously = More Site Revenue, and such a comment would attract traffic to the site
If you do not think that function is available in a stock vBulletin setup, I can post a screenshot highlighting such functions and features. I was looking at it while typing my message because I knew it was there.Last edited by twins0203; 08-11-2006 at 11:45 PM.

Really? Traffic is dying in rolclub?
Accusing the Admin and Mods for this purpoted stunt is quite mystifing. I am at a loss. Rolclub membership is free. Which means the more traffic the more Admin would have to pay. But that doesn't ensure revenue or if in fact advertisers. That aside. We have more than PIPS to offer now. Iraqi Dinar as well a host of other investment and the usual hyips. Most of all a place for us to hang out.
Is it wrong for them to want REVENUE? You make it sound like a dirty word. As far as I have known them, Admin and mods are decent people who wouldn't stoop to low underhanded tactics. If ever the right place your suspicions are warranted, you should cast them on Bryan Barry "I've lost everything." James "Humanitarian Aid Halotto" Marsden.
Furthermore, traffic would have been swamped anyway come Nov. 24. When the news of Marsden trial comes out!
I write this out of support for the Admin and Mods for all their tireless effort to bring us the latest news and more.

I agree with theBat$, and I think he summed up the absurdity of your thinking very well, which are together weak attempts at distraction, at best, and plainly hostile at the least. Your nonsense cannot now, at this point in time on this forum, play but to a very limited population of minds with a narrow bandwidth. The majority of this forum's membership are reasonable people with commom sense. Let common sense prevail with respect to this forum's TOS and/or take your issue up with Marek/Admin directly, just don't hijack this thread to promote unfounded accusations.

thelema

In all fairness to Ray Marek and his team, they have done an amazing job with ROLclub. Why bother with a cheap shot like a post from BM ?
Look around,ROL have plenty of advertisers,so why?

Forgive me if I am wrong "chin-lee", but did you post this elsewhere
in a different forum?
"Posted: Sat Nov 04, 2006 4:30 pm Post subject: Yes I saw it. Good part is that he has excess to computers and bad part is he posted in wrong place. I guess he has only that excess for now. We should some how give him a links of good places.
In normal reactions by evil side Owen and his buddies reacted with negativity.
They even think at Hyip discussions that was not Bryan. I don think Marek would allow that post if was not Bryan"
Slight contradiction of your opinion, if so, but I would not be surprised by such from NL/BS/........
I suppose that you could deny it quite easily, since denial now comes
as second nature for you, but I am yet to see where you have addressed
the previous posts when you were recognized as NL/BS/.....
BTW,
I was pretty certain that you had returned as chin-lee, but I did not
address you, even though I was tempted to do so.
I must admit that I did have a chuckle once I saw others
address you as NL/BS/.....
It is interesting how some people can recognize the obvious, regardless
of the alias, and even more interesting is how others never quite get it.
The one thing that I wish you would come to terms with is the difference
between, That Which is Positive, That Which is Negative, and That Which
is Fact!
You seem to always regard the proposed fact as negative, straight away.
Why not investigate the proposed fact before labeling it as negative?
At least give it the benefit of doubt!
If we are to be "WISE AS A SERPENT AND HARMLESS AS A DOVE" I
believe that we need to investigate proposed facts!
Otherwise we may be "CASTING PEARLS BEFORE SWINE"!
I'm sorry but it appears to me that several "perfectly good individuals"
are more than willing to support certain causes without first taking the
time to investigate proposed facts!
IMO, you run the risk of "casting pearls before swine" if you choose to
do so prior to investigating!
But, to each their own!
I just wish some people would quit being so "dogmatic" in their "supportive" opinion without first proving it to be worth so!
An interesting statement was being made earlier on by several "in the
know" individuals, it was: "Things are not always as they appear to be".
I find that to be more true today then I did a year ago! Now my perspective comes from
taking the time to look a bit deeper into the real
character of my "fortune/goodwill idol". After I took off the shades and allowed myself to be
openminded enough to question a few things I found
out that "Things are not always as they appear to be"!Laugh when you can, apologize when you should, and let go of what you can't change. Kiss slowly, play hard, forgive quickly, take chances, give everything, never go to sleep angry and have no regrets. Life is too short to be anything but happy.

So some people think this post was created by Marek or one of the mods to increase traffic on this forum because it was dying?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Let's look at some numbers. Post #1 of this thread was posted on November 3rd. Today is November 8th and I am posting what will be post # 370. That's 370 posts in 5 days, or an average of 76 per 24 hr period.
Look up at the Iraqi Dinar section. The main thread (the news thread) has had 300 posts in the last 24 hrs. And it gets that kind of activity day after day after day. And that is only one thread in that section. Granted it is the main thread but it is not the only one. And there are other sections to this forum with their own level of activity.
I'm sorry, but to think that this thread is going to boost traffic on this forum by any significant amount is nothing more than wishful thinking, and that is about as politely as I can express it.
