Yes, we agree that members should pay something to keep this forum going.
But please cut the members some slack. A lot depend on PIPS and are not making much outside of that.
Let's ask for voluntary contributuions now until PIPS gets going again. When PIPS returns, then it would not be bad to ask for membership fees since everyone should be able to pay then.
Meantime also, close the forum to new registrations to ease the load on the servers..

We dont have enough bandwith! Need a server guys! Try to understand that. At a later time this site might be totally free of any cost again. But donations wont solve it. You speak about donations like all would give. Not many give donations on forums. Most just wish a free ride! And i dont mind that, but to make it fair to other members that do pay, the rest has to also, so all contribute a bit.

Hello.
Some of you suggest to close down signups!
All that are registered on this site can follow the news of what happens in pips. Why are you any different from those that wish to join Rolclub, and are signing up everyday? They have the same right to be hearing the news like all of you that are members already.
By not taking more members, we will just keep people from the info that they desperatly seek, like any of us that has invested in pips! I think it is to egoistic to say something like this.
Everyday i receive many email from people that thank me for starting Rolclub, and how happy they are to be on a forum where they can track pips. I can’t block people out! As the situation is in pips right now, people need to know what happened to their accounts, they are frustrated and angry, and you ask me to block people out??? I like you all to be a part of this site, but wont close down the new signups, NO!! . This is some how to delay the problem. I believe we have delayed this for some time now! Cant let that continue.
All member are equal to me. The once that are inn, and those that signup everyday!

I would suggest a quarterly $5.00 fee and see how many sign up. I think the lower fees would enable more people to sign up.

Some of you suggested to disable avatars, that has been done so we can save us a little extra bandwith! :-).
Will activate avatars as soon as we get a new server.

Hi admin,
Well I just had to jump in on this one, and make a suggestion.
I will first say that this is a good forum for discussion and information. I was wondering why you need to sign up for this forum just to view most all of the posts? What is the point of this? Anyone can just get an email address, and create a username. Considering that maybe half? of the users of this forum don't post, myself included, they wouldn't need to create a username.
Is there any reason for this, and wouldn't opening the forum to "Guests" help to relieve some of the sign up overload? Thanks

Another thing is several members requested a closed forum like this, as we started with a open forum like you said. We would like all to be registered to be able to read and post on Rollcub.com .
With a registration we can monitor the site better and have more control over what is posted by who.
If all were guests, how could we then remove those that post troll posts on ROLCLUB.

BigBrother,
Isn't it possible to disable guests from posting?

Hi BB,
Thanks for the response. I understand why you need to track registered user posts. Any person or troll can register on this forum with an email address and can read, post and bring information to other forums, so it seems pointless to make people sign up to do so that do not wish to post.
Why not turn posting for "Guests" off?
thanks
