They allegedly received money that were proceeds of unlawful activities between Jan 4 and June 14 last year.

The transactions, amounting to US$3,100,799.33 (about RM11,470,000), were said to have been done through their company (Pic Pay Dot Com Sdn Bhd) account with EON Bank Group in Nilai, Negri Sembilan.

Marsden was charged with committing another two counts of the offence involving RM106,000, through his personal account with the same bank on Jan 28 and Feb 20, 2004.

The couple were charged separately under the Anti-Money Laundering Act before Sessions Court judge Allaudeen Ismail.

They claimed trial to all charges.

To date, Marsden has claimed trial to a total 57 charges involving nearly RM46mil while Phan has 48 charges against her involving more than RM38mil.

Marsden was represented by J. Kuldeep Kumar and Phan by S. Puspanathan.

Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

    Interesting,

So now we are down to $3M from original $7M figure? Where did the other $4M go? I would have hoped the figure of total money laundered would have gone up offering a little hope for refunds of those who had pending withdrawals in Picpay, but this is not a good sign when charges go up, and money goes down. (g)

    Good luck to all, Mike

    Default 5 Years?

Just received an UNCONFIRMED report that the Marsdens received a 5-year sentence on charges filed against them.

If that be the case, that was pretty fast decision by the Malaysian courts. Anybody in Malaysia can confirm this report?

It hasn't gone to trial yet. They can't be given 5 years until they are convicted. That info is wrong.

I think the info is garbled. I'm pretty sure the original thing was an "up-to-5-years" possible jail term, along with a fine.

I'm guessing lambo must have had a really sad life and been subject to a lot of abuse to end up being someone who carries so much hate....

Nonetheless, I think statements like that is a good reason to ban him. (regardless who the statement is aimed at)

    Best wishes,
