Very true, Yogi, since the trial has not started yet. The present trial is about money laundering, not about fraud.

Without a shadow of doubt Bultn, as one can also recall, how (un)fortunate it may appear for Bryan to miscalculate his vision and predictions tied to his operations to stage it in Malaysia.

Being held up with no positive outlook of early release nor definition as to the duration of the trial thus far, he may now even envy Madoff's early trial ending this soon and be whizzed to an unknown Medium or Light Security penitentiary with a somewhat comfortable (click)>>> to kosher environment as opposed to his current location like Malaysia is, which is not highly appraised.

For those patiently awaiting on this BM Trial outcome, I often wondered how far if any and for some, determined to "get even" to the very last buck, to sit out the long haul for justice to be served and to have it renewed with new legal procedures in countries like the USA or UK or closer to Malaysia... being in Australia or Singapore itself? The GINS case was wrapped up incredibly quick for Dr Ang, the brains behind GINS if anyone recalled that Investment Plan?

I am certain that if BM was held in custody in USA for the same reasons he and his wife are now held & facing trial in Malaysia, they would not only have gain a higher profile case in the USA but for sure too, the PIPs saga would not have lasted this length, just see what has occurred with Bernard Madoff?

Prosecutors have already said low-level employees in Madoff's New York offices participated by mailing out tens of thousands of phony monthly statements and trading confirmations to make it look as if customers were making money in the market.

Can anyone envisage this occurring when the day arrives under scrutiny by Malaysian prosecution, against the innocent (or guilty) employees who knowingly knew what they were doing as an accessory to the PicPay overview we then saw in the back-office account? An interesting correlation here won't you think?

Interesting to take note on both reference concerning money laundering and/or fraud. Which would be weighed heavier as a criminal offense if one is accused and charged under current conditions since 9/11 in Finland... outside the USA or any other country which any reader wish to respond on this?

I am not a lawyer and thus not familiar with the Finnish laws about fraud and money laundering so I really don't know. However, it will be interesting to follow the WinCapita trial if and when it starts.

Hi Yogi,

Technically, they are both felonies in U.S., so I suspect the same with all English derivied law, so I don't think it is a question of which is worse, both are same in eyes of law and carry same penalties.

Thanks for your unquestionable analogy on the two which fundamentally, is equally tragic for the taxpayer or those being duped at the other end of the "heist" to describe it fashionably.

The problem is, when we are faced with "which" standards and with which Continent or country is playing Judge or applying the rules...
Its like how the one world views Al Qaeda to that of The Taliban and between an extremist and that of a Terrorist... this is the reason why I ask of Finland's perception to such an example.

Yes, only those who knows just where we actually stand and currently faces with the real threat knows there's more to it than meets the eye that threatens the Western progressive way of life which is too far ahead from the medieval way of thinking living amidst us all.

As for Fraud or Money laundering which unmistakably still owes or links to embezzlement, one way or the other, its only a matter of who is in charge or which country is overseeing or presiding the case.

For those who have a hard time following or thinking deep or far beyond your vocab or nostrils... stay quiet and read up more instead.

Posting cynically about "English preferred for comprehension" won't get you anywhere either.

Try clicking again the above and this time it will work and save it as a favorite for future reference.
