Rolclub forum is back online.

First i have to say that we had a series of problems with our server, server IP and database error. These are events that lead to a downtime which was longer then 24h.

It started when our hosting company made a mistake and somehow used old server IP list, which were in use already, with the new, and gave out their old customers server IP addresses to their new customers.Traffic was lead to a unsubscribe page, which was or had nothing to do with rolclub. If you did unsubscribe, it did not get registered with our database, as it was not our website. Our hosting company has deeply apologized this mess, and assured us that this kind of mistakes will never happen again.

This directly lead to our traffic being lead to another server for 30 min. I was online when this happened, and this mistake was corrected in less then 30 min.

When Rolclub then was online again, we experienced a long list of problems with our forum database. Those of you that were online right after that, knows that the threads were acting strange, and last posters did not show up as they should have.

The server could not correct this mistake by it self, and this problem got even worse when we were not able to get hold of our programmer to fix that at that time. The forum was shut down due to an database error by itself in the early hours while it was night time in us, and very early in Poland.
I was heading for an exam and did not have another look as a usually do before i leave, so the problem was not detected by me before yesterday evening my time GMT+2.

When i noticed that the site was down, i tried to bring it back up, and it was not possible due to missing tables and a corrupt database. Our programmer is from USA, and was out for some urgent meetings, and did also not see this problem before evening time in USA.

It took him many hours to restore all the database, and we had to upload our latest database backup, which was a few days old to manage to fix the problem.

This could have lead to that a few posts and registrations of our members has fallen out of the system, and we truly apologies this.
To the claims that Rolclub might have been hacked or other, This is not true. We have also checked this with our server logs, and there was no outside entries made.

Still our members has been claiming that they have been getting some kind of solicited emails from a Gf forum, which claim that they have been advertising through some groups, that somehow seems to have Pips database, as a lot of their new members are from the database that took us 14 months to build and they have obtained 9000 members in less then 48h after mass spam.
The questions how they got your email addresses should be directed to them, and not us.

Rolclub forum is a responsible forum, and does not share your private information with anyone, unless there is a very good reason to do so, like theft, or questions from GOV...

Oh! what a nightmare having to go to IIF and TG, GFF 9was not that bad as most ly familiar posters were there - I even saw you there. I saw TG telling you that RC is a copycat of their site - If it is YOU UPSTAGE them tremendously! Glad to be back - CAN WE HAVE A PLAN B IN THE EVENT THIS HAPPENS AGAIN -so we dont have to endure the torture of those others sites!!!
