    Default RV Today!!??

Russia will write off Iraq's $10 bln debt - Kudrin
    18:50 | 17/ 09/ 2006

SINGAPORE, September 17 (RIA Novosti) - Russia will sign a Paris Club agreement to write off Iraq's debt of about $10 billion, the Russian finance minister said Sunday.

"Technicalities are being settled at the moment," Alexei Kudrin said, adding the debt could be written off in the next few months.

The write-off follows an agreement in November 2004 by the Paris Club nations to cancel about 80 percent of the Iraqi debt to each of the club's 19 creditor nations.

Kudrin said Iraq would only owe Russia over $1 billion, including interest, after the write-off.

This is my first post on this forum, but I have been around for awhile and I am definately a YEASAYER. I am a big fan of SGS and I strongly believe that she believes. I know we are close to a RV, but with the debt issues still being resolved I wonder can we still have a RV today?

One more question to ponder, and I'm not trying to sound like a naysayer because I have total respect and admiration for Susie and RollsRoyce for posting their information for all of us.

Why would the Iraqi government allow the reval to just showup on the Australian Forex, and not announce to the world that they have revalued their currency. You would think that they would want to show the Iraqi people that their government is taking enormous steps towards stabilization and independence? Maybe we can expect some late night/early morning press conference with the announcement? How has a large reval in other countries been handled (i.e. China, Afghanistan)?

    Thoughts?
