Today was interesting, my local bank president took me into his office.
He's suddenly interested in my position in dinars.
He's letting me know how he'll be on top of things so when they're able to
wire dinars as a foreign currency, everything will go smooth.
How they can assist me here locally when I get my dinars turned into
dollars and how they want to help me re-invest.....
and then he turned the conversation to when a reval happens......
It caught me off guard.
I've done business with this man since 1980, so 27 years.
When I went to wire $ to Al-Warka it was a pain in the butt and
they needed an IBAN #, blah blah blah.....
and I used somewhere else.
He just flat out gave me the impression that he felt a serious rv is coming.
Now where in the world did he get that from?? !!!
He told he had learned a lot about the dinar recently etc...
That after a serious RV I should consider getting my dinars out of Iraq
as dollars and get those dollars working for me here.....
It just made me think, if someone like him, a local president of a
small bank that's part of a large bank came out of the blue with this.....
We're doing a lot more than mere speculating here about a serious RV.
It took me by surprise.
I'm still mulling today over.
Anyone else run into anything like this?

Sorry, my keyboard batteries are low so it doesn't print exactly what I write. I wonder if the news of saddam's death will make a difference in the time the dinar r/v? Once again I'm sorry about the mispelling.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention Mike. I went over there and read some of his other posts and he doesn't seem to have a history of making exaggerated claims. So hopefully his banker is right.
To answer your question at the end of your post. sallyl has a similar story. We've probably all read this but it ties in with your post so I thought it would be good to have them together in the same thread.

Hello again fellow investors, hope you all had a wonderful New Year. I know I haven't posted much lately but that does not mean I haven't been around. It has sure been interesting these last couple of months regarding the statements made by the CBI and recent auctions. As most of you know last month I shared some information I had gotten from one of my sources that the dinar would be revalued at .14 to the dollar. Today I feel that it's still possible but my belief is that it was mainly small talk around Iraq because many also confirmed what I heard. This is not a bad thing though, what this tells us is that the Iraqis are well aware of their grossly undervalued currency and that at some point will need to be significantly risen. Now when I say significantly I do not mean a 13% jump from the current rate like some are led to believe. It's quite laughable to read some peoples response when they say that a 13% rise in value is a "Huge" step for any currency to take but lets be honest we are talking about minuscule gains when taking the dinar into account. If the dollar were to gain as much then we would have something to really talk about. Now regarding further information I have received it's been pretty quite lately. I believe most are just keeping an eye on the auctions and an ear on the ground. What I will say is that the last bit of info I received said that we "should" see a revalue the first month of the new year or February at the latest if everything goes as planned. For all I know we are still on schedule but again I haven't received an update for some time now. I will leave you with what I have been told as to the most crucial step for the revalue to take place and that is a complete reshuffle of the cabinet, so keep and eye out because this could be the final stage of this investment.
The coming months are going to be VERY exciting!!!

I really don't believe that a Cabinet reshuffle is important to a reval. I know some have said as much but like it was pointed out earlier (I think WmK) the CBI is an independent entity and doesn't need to wait for things in the Parliament to work itself out.
The currency has already started to roll and can't be stopped or slowed down now. The CBI needs to do some drastic moves and needs to do them now.“Don't be distracted by criticism. The only taste of success some people have, is when they take a bite out of you.”
Got woOOot?

FRom the other place!
1200:1 ?
hey there, i don't know if you remember me or not. this is bill in AD Diwaniyah Iraq, you sent me a message a couple of weeks ago. anyway i was going to start a new thread but this computer wouldn't let me so i figured i would send it to you instead. as i said in the post that you replied to i am in AD Diwaniyah i have many iraqi workers that had been getting excited about the dinar increasing in value so they had been changing all thier U.S. $ back to dinar. i have asked them to keep me posted as to the word on the streets localy and well today a few of them came to me very excited and said that the banks here in AD Diwaniyah are exchanging the U.S.$ into dinar for 1200 to 1 and that the news had announced that the dinar and the U.S.$ will be equal after a few important anouncement within the next few weeks. now ofcourse at that point i freaked out! i have been scouring this forum and every other damn dinar link i can find everywere and cant find anything along these lines. the only thing that i can really find is the rumors about a reprint of the money and yes i do believe that is all they are RUMORS! i can't remember the timeline but i am sure that Iraq had to sign agreements with world bank when they changed the dinar that they couldn't change it for a preset time. anyway i haven't let any of my family or friends know about my dinar investment and i got so excited i had to share this with someone, i hope you dont mind. see if you can find anything out through your channels and keep me posted please. thanks bill"
