I was going to post something very similar but you beat me to it! I'll ignore this rumour in the safe knowledge that it will not transpire seeing that Secret Key posted it!

Remember folks one of these days a rumour is going to be true..... maybe this is the one maybe not. Dont bet the house or the job on it... BUT it is interesting that all these rumours seem to be saying the same thing....

This is from another place and sound pretty logical.

First, With Jp Morgan setting up Iraqs Banking system & Having it become; "Fully Covertible and Freely Traded"; right from the Start (Per U.S State Dept) it was designed to appreciate from the start and become stronger and create Confidence from the pepole of Iraq in this new currency !!!


In 2004 the IMF put a Artifical Rate on the Iraqi dinar for the purpose of teaching them how to run a stable economy, which they have done.

Meeting all conditions placed on them by the IMF & World Bank and having been given the OK by the IMF to increase the the Exchange rate of the dinar to fight Inflation, this is what has been going on now for about 2 months now.

I believe letting their people know that they were going to increase the value of the Dinar to be "The Currency of Choice" as been stated in past articals and the anoucment to the Gov to start dealing only in Dinar as of last monday at 2 PM.

Also giving the "Heads up" to the local buissness owners, that had been complaining of the unstable dinar messing with their dollar rates that they would be closed from Thrusday last till the 7th of Jan.

AND !! that they would cover all demands on all FORIEGN currency till closing of buissness on the 7th of Jan at the rate of 1325:1 USD and I read that as "if you are holding USD get rid of them because after Jan 7th then dinar will be worth MORE Than a dollar!!!!!!!"

This gives them almost 2 weeks notice so as not to hurt them. Makes alot of sense to me. How else could they do it without hurting them that were holding Dollars

"hello again, well i did see that you posted the pm i sent you and i have been trying to leave a reply to it but i am having problems getting it to work. anyway let me try and answer a few questions that i read in the thread. it is 2:51am here and we just had a morter attack so after the all clear i figured i would check the computer. anyway first of all yes i am a real guy and i am really in Iraq, i have been here for 2 years. my guys are not on the base at the moment but will be in later today so i will ask them were they heard the news regarding a reval. then as far as contractors not being able to say they are in Iraq, well that is partly correct. i can't give you my full name and i can't tell you the name of my company or who works for me, that could put lives at risk which is the last thing i would want to do i have lost enough friends and coworkers here already. and last but not least i am just a normal guy hopeing to make some money off this investment and i have been sure to point out in each of my messages "i don't have anything to back this up has anyone else heard anything alog these lines". i have a wife and kids and a new house back in the US and would really like to get back to them, i am not trying to get people all excited i am just trying to find someway to substaciate what my guys that are living here in Iraq are telling me thats all. as far as the connection between you and i well i sent you the message because when i sent the reply to the post a couple of weeks ago about what my guys had said you were the only person that didn't attack me as someone just trying to stir things up. if anyone want's to PM me with questions or to chat feel free it always nice to have more connections and i will try to answer anything i can. thanks again"
