Default And this means reval, right??

    Malki-Coup
Coup almost toppled Malki’s cabinet - MP

Baghdad, Oct 1, (VOI) – A coup almost toppled Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Malki’s government over the last two days, the Iraqi legislator Baha’ al-A’raji said on Sunday.

“Al-Malki’s government has survived a coup planned by Saddamists and Islamic extremists who wanted to send a clear message to the Iraqi government of their presence in Iraq,” Parliamentarian Baha’ al-A’raji, of Unified Iraqi

    Coalition, told reporters.

The legislator said : “a confidence crisis is spanning among the Iraqi Prime Minster Nouri al-Maliki and his deputy Salam al-Zwba’i and a vice-president, whom not specified by A’raji.”

“The Iraqi government is living a real crisis and it needs reshuffle, otherwise the situation in Iraq will continue worsening,” A’raji added.
The parliamentarian threatened to submit his resignation if a government reshuffle was not made.

“The reshuffle should include among others a ministry within the Unified Iraqi Coalition quota. That ministry was partly a cause of a deteriorated situation in Iraq due to a shortage of petrol and else,” A’raji said indirectly referring to the Oil ministry.

The legislator A’raji also accused the Iraqi government of being behind the deteriorated situation in Iraq.

“What has led to a deteriorated Iraq is the national unity, democratic and national reconciliation government brought about by the Americans and which included among its members some Islamic extremists,” A’raji added.

Only recently, A’raji pointed out, explosives were found in a well known law maker’s house , explosives that were used to make car bombs and charges.

“These accusations were confirmed with clear evidence, which I do not have but surely the government would have, including CDs , photos and trigger devices,” A’raji said.

The U.S. army arrested a suspect working as a body guard with Legislator Adnan al-Duleimi, head of the Sunni Iraqi Accordance Front.
The U.S. army said in a statement the arrest was based on reliable intelligence the suspect was planning along with sevens others to blow up a car bomb inside the green zone in Baghdad.

The U.S army statement also accused the arrested body guard of association with Qaeda in Iraq armed group.

if, and that is a big if, you get out of this without losing all of your invested $$, you will be very fortunate. Things ain't lookin real pretty in Iraq ppl.

    Default Slow But Steady

    Folks,

I believe we have a long way to go before the Dinar appreciates to any strength.

I used to think that there will be a reprint, but after the 'tons" of documents/information I've been reading/understanding, I no longer think that makes sense. However, I do see a slow but steady "appreciation" of the dinar... but not a quick "re-val". Here's why:

The reason a slow, but steady "appreciation" makes sense is that I believe the bankers of the CBI are smart fellows and are being coached well by the USA. The USA, of course, is an advocate of free trade in the stock market. The stock market strength has a linear relationship with the health of a country and inspires (or discourages) the investment in the country. Now that many countries have forgiven Iraq debt, Irag can now focus on growth and inspire faith for other countries to invest in Iraq. To do this, confidence must be built-up/encouraged for other countries to participate in investing in their stock market (ISX). This is the key. Stock markets and bankers do not like surprises. They prefer slow, but steady growth to inspire confience and increased investment (that is why bankers are so boring... but also why they are rich). So, I believe the reality is to inspire "slow but steady" investment in Iraq, not something quick and radical (like an r/v). This slow but steady path will inspire confidence in other countries to invest their moneyand encourage investment, which will ultimately lead to increaded prosperity for the Iraq people. So, to do all this, a slow "appreciation" of the Dinar reflects this attitude and will inspire confidence.

Of course, this makes sense as long as there is a stable government in place. One monkey wrench in my thinking would be that if things continue to be very bad for the Iraq people, an r/v COULD be a temporary solution to raise the purchasing power of the Iraq people. But his is pretty radical and would not inspire confidence for other countries to make investment in Iraq, in the long run.

The $1.68 Rumor was not true... fact is, it never could have been because the numbers didn't bear it out.

Many on this site could have saved themselves the heartache if they would have just let reasonable people offer counter-arguments as to why the $1.68 reval was impossible.

Instead, an army of sychophants shouted down anyone who was not in lock-step with the reval fantasy. They were labeled "trouble makers"...

From the very first post it was obviously a hoax

    Well said,

Its a shame anyone who holds opposite view to most people here on the dinar is hounded out and mocked. This makes the forum nothing more than a dealer site imo.

Even if a camel shits in Iraq people here somehw link it to a Reval.

renton and Dd, I think most people on this forum are all grown up, and know 1.68 sounds silly but there is no harm if someone chooses to believe it, in my opinion 1.68, 1.20, 1.00 sounds way way to high, but who am I to say who ever says that is wrong, I believe if there is a rev it will be more like
3 or 4 dinar will equal 1 USD, they can say whatever they believe to be true, also all the naysayers make great points but it's the way you come across that makes you disliked. (Renton example, your picture).

and even if it never revalues, once the fil is in place and things settle down, the value will increase with time, could be days, months or years, I am 35 so hopefully I have alot of time left, I personally wouldn't mind this being a long term investment, because so are my IRA's.
