It's worth $531,537 US dollars. Not a lot of money for people like Cheney, they certainly can afford it.

He's worth something like $20+ million dollars. I just wonder about things like this though, there are ethics rules, conflict of interest rules. He's not even allowed to control his personal investment portfolio. But if he did have inside knowledge (which I'm sure he does) $750,000,000+ might be worth the firestorm he would ignite once his Democratic enemies exposed his windfall and used it to try to destroy him. He seems like a pretty loyal person. The administration he served as VP for the last 6 years would be forever tarnished by the scandle and he'd have to resign in shame. I don't think he'd bring that kind of disgrace on GW nor his father let alone his own family and his place in history. I don't think someone already worth millions and has the potential to make millions more after 2008 would pay this high a price.

Since the quote says "...has purchased..." and not "...has just purchased...", what's to say that he, not unlike some of us, hasn't been accumulating dinars
over the last year or so and that the total he now holds approximates
750 million?

Any way you slice it though, it seems to me that it is very good news if it is
true. Wealthy people by and large don't take flyers with $531,000 unless they
have a reasonably solid expectation of success. Dick Cheney does not strike me as someone who would invest or speculate with that amount of money on a whim.

I remember reading in the 1 post thread, don't remember who it is, but anyway, somebody has friends in Montana who knew somebody that found out about the dinars, and told this person in the 1 post thread, about the dinars, (HE) asked this person how he knew about the dinars and come to find out the person is friends with Dick Cheney and that's how the person had found out about the dinars.
This is probably confusing, but i'll go see if i can find the story and post it here.
So I would say Dick Cheney probably had his dinars already and that this person from Socata 850 just found out about it. And was repeating what was heard.

I have been reading this forum for months and finally joined today just so I could place munnybags on ignore and say bye-bye to munnybags and the munnymodel once and for all.

As far as the Dick Cheney thing, go back and read post #118 under the "'Your 1 post opinion" thread. This isn't the first time he has been mentioned regarding the dinar.
