YOU have no idea HOW many times people start these rumors or "passing info". But less see if I can create one out of the air from key rumor factors:

1. The source has to be credible; but, unreachable to all except the poster:

ex:. I train with a friend who is with a contracted security company in Iraq. He's been assigned to a number of rep's in the Iraq Government.

2. Next comes the "Hook" (the thing that draws the reader in):

ex:. While securing a number of meetings he couldn't help but listen in to some of the discussions (his arabic isn't that great).

3. Next throw in some fact info that can be gotten from surfing all the iraqi forums:

ex:. He overheard them saying something about raising the value. Also, some important meeting on the Dec 11 or 12 which will allow them to come back to the world market?

See! Pretty easy...

Many of us still have our armor up from the "Clay-Days" and the "Wiseguy's" times. So it is alittle hard for many of us to swallow any new rumors without some fourm cred! I do thank you for sharing this info and I will file it away as I hope this will all come true.

I figured that someone would dig up that old first post of mine- good for you, opps50! And yes, Lakeway, I can understand why you thought that post was weird. I am slightly computer challenged and had never posted before so I really wasn't sure if it would work or not.

Thanks to all who covered my butt by exhorting others not to call the University, etc., and a special thanks to all for honoring that exhortation... by not calling.

Wow! I never dreamed that my post would cause such a ruckus. But looking back, it is not really a rumor, its an opinion; an opinion by someone with different credentials then the very qualified members of our ROLClub family. I don't even know the professor's name! I never met him. I don't know if his contacts are in Iraq or Jordan or Kuwait. I don't know if his contacts are in the oil business, the GOI, the halls of academia or, as I suspect, those heavily involved within the foreign investment community; perhaps even the banking community. This is an unknown- and shall remain so, even if we/I really, really want that information to be divulged! I'd love to know- but it ain't gonna happen!

The real reason I posted at all was to try to tidy up what seemed like a small mess made by SilverstreakO's hodgepodge postings. And here is the key issue: we were excited by the professor's comments because they helped confirm, strengthen and validate all the excellent EVIDENCE that is pointing toward the Revalue, and a high one at that! The professor's comments were NEVER intended to supersede or take precedence over any of the facts, evidence, or the well thought out opinions- or even rumors of any of the great ROLClub family members!

Another point I would like to make: please believe me when I say Oscar and I never intended to use this "rumor" to gain any "status" or "one-upmanship" over any of the great (or even the not-so-great) members here (but I guess we did get us some notoriety! ) In conclusion, take it for what its worth- comments from a third party. Regardless of IMF's enthusiasm for it, its just a "rumor". We aren't asking anyone to believe it- and we certainly aren't suggesting anyone "bank" on it! All I would request from the family here, is to give it just a little- just a teeny bit of... respect. Why? Because I know Joey, and Joey is worthy. If he says the professor is worthy too, that's good enough for me.

Final thought (for now!): When we meet at the Reval Party, how many people will we be able to look in the eye, smilingly get/give hugs to- without having any pangs of guilt due to unkind thoughts or words expressed during these stressful days of learning the art of, and mastery of... patience?
