Without getting too involved in creating rumors ( which I steadfastly abhor!) let me just say this: a number of odd things have happened recently with us civilian contractors with references to Dinar and an impending reval. All I can say about it is this: I will believe it when i see it with my own two eyes, but having heard what I have heard the last few days ( which I am not at liberty yet to tell you, so don't even start!) I am going to get ready. I believe it's coming. Soon. I plan to be prepared. I urge you to do the same. If you have ever read any of my past posts, then you know I am not one to mislead or be vague or ambiguous. Sorry if it sounds that way now. Trust me, that when I hear more that is concrete and newsworthy, I will certainly pass it on. I wouldn't even post this much if i was not totally convinced. Hope I am not the victim of some bizarre joke, but as of right now, I seriously doubt it. Employers don't have a habit of telling employees of impending events unless there was an enormous grain of truth in it...

Well, once again y'all have surprised me. I expected to be absolutely crucified here this morning...maybe even hung in effigy, for having had to be so ambiguous and vague.
My vagueness and ambiguity really has not so much to do with my employment as of those whose integrity and ethics, and employment come under scrutiny by our common employer.
In saying what I did about being prepared, what I actually meant was that it always better to be prepared, have all your ducks in a row, all the "t"'s crossed and "I"'s dotted, etc. For those of us in country here, that might include packing some things in preparation for going home...that kind of thing. I'm personally not advocating anyone giving notice, sending everything home or anything like that. Everything is a rumor until proven fact! I'm just saying there comes a time when you have to stop drifiting from day to day, week after week, month after month and realize thatin most things ( and this is DEFINETLY ONE OF THEM) it's better to follow the 6 "p" formula: "proper planning prevents piss poor performance". Have your exit strategies in place, your financial consulants in mind, etc. In short, basic planning guys, that's all. Don't read more into it than there is. Personally, and this OPINION has nothing to do with what I posted before, I think, and have thought for some time, that the reval will be within the first quarter of "07. If you've been watching the CBI exchange rates, the really interesting thing is the amount's bought and sold...especially lately. It started with those incredibly high amounts...105 million etc. Now that figure is down considerably, leading me to think they are and have been just sucking the dinars back into this country. Why? So they have less out there to have to back up when they DO r/v it. George W and a lot of other folks have been putting the pressure on these guys to get everything done. They have everything ready, and we all know it. The biggest thin

Trutth of the matter is, other peooples jobs are at risk here. Having been taken into confidence here by these guys, I cannot and will not ruin things for them by not beating around the bush. I do agree with you about staying calm until rumor becomes fact. The only reason I posted what I did was because I felt it kind of odd that after all these years of the big civilian contractors over here knowing something like this would eventually happen, why is it that just now, at this point in time, do they choose to get everyone together ( management) and tell them this stuff? Doesn't that seem a little odd to you...all of you? Or coincidental? And again, this is just MY view of things...doesn't have to be yours or anyone elses, and doesn't mean I am correct in my assessment. I'm just a one feather indian, in a camp full of chiefs, adding up two and two and seeing four. If you havn't read before, let me state again, and for the record again: I absolutely abhor false rumors and b.s. I would not post anything unless I felt there was some substance to it somewhere. Not like they guy who says " well I heard from the sister in law, of my cousins third cousin who has a friend who has a friend who used to know someone who once said the r/v will be...yadayadayada. Believe it or don't believe it, the choice is yours. But just look at all the facts that we know and draw your own conclusions. Whats your take on this? the part he doesn't do rumors is that true in his past posts? I only ask as I'm not all that familiar with him (But am familiar of the forum this is from) Just interested in your take and opinion Thanks

My take on this is that it lends credence to other rumors such as what Neno has posted in this thread or what Mrs CK has posted about her Aussie CEO's info, to the news articles that we have been seeing from Iraq, to the actions of the CBI as of late. IMO no rumor or bit of info stands alone, they are all part of a bigger picture which is becoming clearer to us by the day (if you can see thru the fog and distortions which are also presented to us daily) it is my belief that we are within weeks of the end of this ride and I would like to thank everyone on this board who work so hard to provide us with news and information about our investment, including the ones who risk their credability by providing the rumors.

Thank You for your opinion, yes it certainly seems things are going in the right direction what with MRSCK info and another post on the dark side about contracts Neno's info and the CBI's behavior and now this latest post on CNBC Business Arabia so here's hoping for the best for us

Ok. I am very tired, but wanted to post a Update. I did get a chance to chat with my freind early today. I did ask a few questions but will elaborate on them shortly.

First off he went talking. He was telling me that the reason we see so much bad news rather than good news is because that is the way they want it presented. (Makes Since) One of the main reasons for this is to relax the speculation of the NID (New Iraqi Dinar) The Government there dosen't want us Invested in it Heavily, (Big Boys) Not just yet.

Reason, Cause they have to buy it back. Makes since right? Yes it does. So Smoke Screens are totally throwed out there. Once they have everything in Place and enacted then they could care less.

Also went on to say that March we see the NID Move to around 1200 and then after that it will go futher. ( Pure Hugwash) There is that smoke screen again. Now this all comes from his contacts in Iraq. Again they dont want us heavy involved. (The Big Money Just Yet)

Once we got past his info from his contacts, I went back to the $1.02 talk again that we had before. It was in a contract, that is forsure. But, it was a contract wrote in dollars and cents. And yes it was pulled also for the fact of revaluing the dinar to match that contract. Everytime the exchange rate is moved one dinar it confuses the resent contracts and this is why they are rewriten with out one.

According to this info the contract will be hon ored at the time the exchange rate settles open on contract time. And then adjusted after that when needed. (Makes perfect since) and saves on paper for the contracts. Hope that clears that figure up.

Lastly he says his folks in Iraq say that the Security and Stabillity will be Key to the success of Iraq to have a value of a desent rate. (Again Prue Smoke Screen) IMHO.

Gang I dont know what else to bring here from my freind. It is all starting to not make since of the news that is being relayed. I am thinking of just reporting anything that we dont know from here on out. Which from what I was waiting to get Today is mostly already know.

Asfar as watching the Markets to dictate the adjustments to the CBI. We can not do that anymore, cause we all know now that they run two sets of books. We know this because the Market dosen't match and the Articles point out alot about the Real Exchange rate.

What I have really learnt from MrsCK and Bubbajr is the reading between the lines. That is what it is and how they are reporting to the Public at Large. We all also know that Wednesday PM Milliki will be anoucing the HCL and then the Public media presence for the Saturday Speach will diffently be in the area we are ready to go. For now I say Wednesday thru Sunday is going to be very important for this Investment of what will be revealed out of it in this Speaches.

I would also say until I have something else for this Thread to please carry on the diciphering and watch MrsCK's Thread to see what comes from there too.

Until then please dont Sell-Out, and have Patients for just awile more. You have had it this long. Just "STAY THE COURSE".
