    Once again:

    If 1.29 dinars = 1 USD, then 1 dinar = 0.78 USD

Once again...What has been intimated before is that the value of the Dinar is tracking with the Dollar as compared to the Euro. So, $1EUR is equal to $1.29USD and $1288IQD is equal to $1USD. What others have been trying to say is that they will make the IQD equal with the USD so when all is said and done, you move the decimal point from the end of $1288.0 to $1.288 which when rounded becomes $1.29IQD which would then be equal to $1EUR. With this scenario $1USD would be equal to $1IQD and both would be worth $1.29USD/IQD to $1EUR...

Default Once Again the correct math

What others have been trying to say is that they will make the IQD equal with the USD so when all is said and done, you move the decimal point from the end of $1288.0 to $1.288 which when rounded becomes $1.29IQD which would then be equal to $1EUR. (This is not correct if 1.29 iqd= 1USD then 1iqd = .775 USD) With this scenario $1USD would be equal to $1IQD and both would be worth $1.29USD/IQD to $1EUR...
think about it this way: if 1.29 iqd = 1 usd then you go to the bank with one iqd are you going to get more or less than 1usd back ? you will get .775 usds. It takes more than one IQD (1.29 to buy 1 usd)

another way to think about it is this

    now 1288 iqd's = 1 usd so now i dinar is worth a fraction of a dollar.

    if the rate changes to

1.28 iqd = 1 usd then it still takes more than one Dinar to buy one dollar
so if x iqd = 1 usd then the dinar will not be worth more than i dollar until x less than 1.

So, for your math to be correct you have to do the following two steps

    1. move the decimal point in the exchange rate from

    1288 iqd = 1 dollar to
    1.288 1qd = 1 dollar

    2. then invert the ratio so that you go from

    1.28 iqd = 1 USD to
    1.28 USD = 1 iqd

I know everyone on this forum is smart especially if you bough dinar, so read this and let's keep our math tight like a tiger.

    Thanks
    Michael

Found on another site,What do you guy's think?

I think the RV will happen April 1, 2007. Lets take a look. HCL will be approved(It has to be Conference Held April 17-18). ICI will follow after the HCL has been approved and written into law. FIL is supposed to go into effect April 1, 2007. And i think the ISX will follow shortly after that. Its the begining of a new quarter or what they call new year. And Finally it is the Start of their week (Sunday). Here are some key articles:

    17-18 April , Amman, Jordan

In collaboration with the Iraqi Government, the Iraq Development Program (IDP) is proud to announce the official Iraq Oil, Gas & Petrochemical Summit. For the most important sectors of the Iraqi economy, this historic landmark event will be the first of its kind since the formation of the new Unity Government.

Other leading international bodies will be in attendance, such as UNIDO and the World Bank. The Iraqi Government will also be making direct personal invitations to GCC and international energy and oil ministers.

    Key Content
Each Iraqi Government Ministry will be presenting details of their key projects, contracts and areas of investment.

Talabany stressed that these two laws currently contain “major concessions” by the KRG. Although the Iraqi constitution gives the KRG the sole authority to develop new fields in the Kurdistan Region and receive revenue from those fields, it has agreed to share those revenues with the rest of Iraq.

The foreign investment law has been passed and its clauses are being finalized and should be enacted around April.

I heard back from Warka..... - Investor's Iraq Forum

Foreign investors are not yet allowed to trade on the two-and-a-half-year-old Iraq Stock Exchange—“They have said, ‘within six months,’ for the last two-and-a-half-years,” Englund laments, though he adds optimistically, “there is a possibility it will happen by the end of the year, but nobody really knows”—so you need locals on the ground.

Englund suspects that once the foreign investment restrictions are lifted, the floodgates will open. “There is a lot of interest from foreigners to enter the Iraq Stock Market,” he says. “

Notice that I said "intimated". I never claimed the math was correct or that the theory was sound. I merely posted what has been being put forth. IF the Iraqi's revalued the Dinar to 1:1 with the USD then $1EUR would be (today and any day that the IQD/USD is equal to 1285:1 or higher) equal $1.29IQD. Others here have put this forward I was just merely trying to clarify it.

It is not a straightforward mathmatical formula but who is to say that the revalue will follow an exact formula? Being that most believe the mainstream Iraqi of being mostly illiterate, maybe the powers that be believe it should be as simple as "Dinar to Dollar" or "One to One". IF it becomes 1:1 then "as referenced to the Euro" the current value to the Dinar would be multiplied by 1000 and become the new value to the Euro. That is all that is being put forward. It's "Clear as Mud"...

Ya, if i hear of a RV on Sunday (April 1) morning, i'll be double-checking - no triple checking - before i start jumping up and down.
A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, "Now, class, if I stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would turn red in the face... then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position the blood doesn't run into my feet?"
A little fellow shouted, "Cause your feet ain't empty."
